The food, atmosphere and service were among the best I've ever experienced at any restaurant. The quality and presentation of the food was stellar especially considering the reasonable pricing. I can tell the kitchen staff holds themselves to a very high standard. A must visit in Monterey!

Crown & Anchor is a fantastic spot for a great meal and a relaxed evening.
We stopped here for dinner while staying at Hotel Pacific, and it turned out to be a wonderful choice.
Ray ordered the corned beef and cabbage and absolutely loved it — flavorful, comforting, and very well done. He also enjoyed their shot-and-a-beer option, which is a fun addition to the menu. He had a Hefeweizen beer paired with Buffalo Trace bourbon, and it was perfect.
I ordered the pastrami melt with Swiss, and it was outstanding — truly delicious. The sandwich was served on a great onion roll, which made it even better. And the clam chowder deserves special mention — easily one of the best clam chowders I can remember having.
Our server, Christal, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, gave great recommendations, and clearly takes pride in her work. If you have the chance, sit in her section — she really enhances the experience.
Excellent food, great drinks, and top-notch service. We’ll absolutely return next time we’re in Monterey.tiktok wegotschwag

The curry fries are the best! Stopped by in this place while visiting the city and wish I had something like that closer to home.
We went in to dine and we were rudely told that only guide dogs were alowed when we had a service dog with us. Pure discrimination on their side and not accommodating per saying no to a service dog is illegal. Very disappointing.

Apart from the loud F bombs I kept hearing about some Navy stories from a waiter, the food and Decor is unmatched outside the UK. The food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is magical! Will recommend with no hesitation to anyone. Great dessert as well! Definitely come here for an authentic experience.
Love the bartenders!

We sat at the bar for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was delicious, the bartenders were fun and knowledgeable and the others customers were great! We had the short ribs and they were tender and tasty. This place is super cool!

As a English/irish guy visiting here it was the worst guinness I ever had, pulled in one go and no tilting the glass😭 one member of staff was really good the others you had to work at getting a drink.

Delicious beef and mushroom pot pie! Accompanied by a Harp lager, it was perfect on a chilly evening. Our server was cheerful and attentive. Would recommend for those visiting the area and looked like a favorite with locals. Fun decor.

We came here for dinner before a show at the Golden Gate Theater nearby and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
The eclectic Brit and nautical decorations throughout the space give it a funky vibe.
We both went for their meat pies, one chicken one steak, both were quite good with nice flaky crust on top. As another reviewer wrote the gravy in the pies was not as thick as I’d ideally like, but still had a good flavor. Also a great range of beers on tap.

Best English public house on the west coast. Only a block away from work C&A is my nightly dinner haunt. Chippies are the best, shepherds pie and all the other classics will have you singing shanties with new friends while you grab a game and swill a pint. The wait staff were rumored to place bets on what I’d order each night so I’d try to be as unpredictable as possible; the up-side to that is that everything is spot-on.
