I am clicking the stars because the place is no longer open. You cannot post without clicking on the stars. I went here the other day. This place is closed. I ran into the new owner. She said they will be reopening mid-May and will continue to specialize in Gluten Free. I hope that the new place will be good!

This feels less like a bakery run by bakers and more like a business run as a public service. If you have celiacs then your choices for genuine gluten free food are next to nothing, so a bakery that caters to you is pretty awesome. For those people, this place is probably 5 stars. If you have a gluten sensitivity, or are GF by choice, the food is just okay. I wanted to love the cinnamon roll, but it was both doughy and dry. The saving grace was a healthy helping of cinnamon filling. The "quiche" of the day didn't have a GF crust. In fact, it had no crust at all and was essentially a frittata. The unforgivable failing was the coffee. I've had better coffee at gas stations and car dealership waiting rooms. Really, a bag of Kirkland's Best grinds from Costco would be an improvement. I'm not trying to crap on this bakery, because it's a good cause. I just really hope they read the Yelp reviews about their coffee and step it up a notch.

Went there with my hubby, both of us are gluten free, and bought a bunch of items spanning the menu. It was all good! Multigrain bread was excellent. My gluten-eating kids loved the cinnamon rolls. And my son devoured the chicken pot pie and swore it wasn’t gluten free. I tasted the crust and it was legit! I do recommend this spot, particularly for the variety it offers and the quality of goods. It will cost a bit more than regular bakery items, but if you need gluten free, you will forget the cost once you finally get to enjoy the goodies you normally have to pass on.

Jennifer, I believe the owner, was friendly and efficient when I went into order birthday cupcakes. She knew pricing and details without having to dig for them and it made it really helpful in placing my order and helping me stay in my budget. I got 6 cupcakes and they were so delicious and moist. So glad this bakery is an option!! They also have a whole case of delicious sweet and savory options for grab and go.

As a Celiac person living in Pacific Grove, this is going to be my new local haunt! I’m obsessed!

Nice that it’s all gluten-free, but it’s lacking in flavor. I’ve been there twice now, once for cookies and the second time for a pie. I feel awful saying this, but since the only way things can get better is to address them, I might as well be honest. The cookies were dry and tasteless, even though they were beautiful to look at. It’s the same story with the pie. I really want to like this store! I’ll be going back for a cupcake and the highly-recommended frosted cinnamon roll, but if those don’t taste any better I’ll probably have to move on.

We drove there on our way back from Treebones, excited that it was a gluten-free bakery. The first impression was that we walked in and there was only one lady there, possibly shop owner? Not sure, she did not have a welcoming demeanor, she looked irritated, did not greet us and seemed a little rude in my opinion. Took me a minute to realize this, but clearly we are in the middle of a pandemic and at least out of respect for others, I think people running businesses should be wearing a mask, since it is still a mandate in most places. Not very many people in town were wearing a mask, so I'm not sure if the fact that we were both wearing a mask made it so she immediately made a prejudgment, not sure. Their pastries were not very good, I'm surprised because so many places out there have found some awesome alternatives that keep their baked goods tasty. These were dry, and hard, almost like they had been sitting there for a couple of days already. Even though she seemed so rude and I wanted is to just walk out, we still picked up several items to try out in hopes it would be delicious and her attitude would be tolerable. Not worth it, I won't be going back, but I say try it for yourself, maybe it might be to your liking you never know.

I don't normally like to write negative reviews but this place has gone downhill. The last 2 times I was there, it took forever to get service, when there was no one in the bakery. The last time, the lady came out of the back eventually and said I'll be right with you and I ended up waiting at least a full 5 minutes and ended up leaving. The pastries aren't that good anyways, I have made better GF vegan goodies. I just wanted something quick. The brownie is pretty good. Cinnamon roll too. The rest eh. Pies are awful. Learn how to bake. It' easy to make GF ( and Vegan and with healthy sugars) at home. If you really must go there do but don't expect to be impressed at all. It is sad really because it is the only GF bakery in Monterey. Get it together Morning Dove and really learn how to present and decorate better! It's awful!

GREAT gluten-free bakery! It's hard to find good gluten free baked goods, so both times I went I bought a bunch of things to take home (I don't live in the area). The cookies, cinnamon roll, and cake pop did not disappoint!! My favorite item was probably the loaf of white bread I bought, though. None of the food I tried tasted gluten-free, which, if you're on a strict gluten-free diet, you know is hard to find. When eating a piece of bread I literally said "wow, this tastes like real bread." Both woman working there were very nice as well.

I wish it would have been a better experience. I’ve eaten gluten free for a long time. These products just fall apart. Cookies in a thousand pieces. Loaf of bread 20$? Appreciate the effort to make gluten free products but this just didn’t work.

Almost never review but stopped in and ordered an oat milk cappuccino. Not even sure what I got but I took three sips and poured it out. Tastes like a gas station powdered cappuccino. If you want real espresso drinks, go elsewhere.
