During a four day visit to Monterey, we had an opportunity to visit numerous local restaurants. We loved our breakfast so much at the Wave Street Cafe that we went back a second day. Our group enjoyed the huevos rancheros, eggs benedict, oatmeal, roasted poblano chili/ham omelet, and fresh fruit. The Cafe is obviously a local favorite as a line formed early on both days. The ambiance near the beach is great. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive, especially appreciated with a preschooler. Even the coffee was memorable - in a good way!
Great food. Great service. Fast and friendly. We were lucky to find this place.

My wife had cinnamon bun pancakes that were the bomb. I had a breakfast burrito that made me never want to eat another burrito other than from this place! I had a really good bloody Mary here too. The portions are humongous

Nice food and really quick service! We had the pancakes and salmon eggs Benedict. The orange juice tasted a bit off, but maybe that was the variety used, or perhaps it wasn’t fresh. Otherwise it was an excellent meal and really enjoyed our visit.

Quoted 1hr wait, group of 3 in front of us quoted 20 mins. Looked nice but must be slow service if it takes 1hr to clear a 2 top.
Great spot for breakfast with a view!

🌶The taste is not spicy,🥔and it has a mild flavor, so it's a good place to eat in the morning. The 🚣♀️ocean background and⛱️ beach beyond the window create a good atmosphere.

We visited the cafe as part of a 17 day road trip from San Francisco to San Diego and hands down this cafe was the winner!! The cinnamon bun pancakes were to die for and the service was super efficient and really friendly with the lovely waitress helping us with local spots for dinner. 💯 go here!!
We waited over 40 minutes to be seated, only to be placed next to the trash bin. On top of that, an employee was loudly wiping down freshly washed cutlery to remove water spots, which made the dining experience very uncomfortable (especially since there were plenty of guests eating—I don’t understand why this task had to be done out in the open).
There were also lots of flies, and the place felt dirty in many corners. During the busy hours, it seemed like they were short-staffed because it took a long time just to place an order.
The food itself wasn’t bad, but the poor hygiene and terrible service made the overall experience unpleasant. I won’t be coming back just for average food in such an environment.

Selected this place for breakfast because of the great Google reviews and it did not disappoint! I had omelette and substituted the potatoes with cottage cheese and my partner had the corned beef hash. He said it was the best thing he had tasted since our trip in California started. Coffees were beautiful and the service was great 10/10!

Great breakfast spot close to the coastline. Delicious food and coffees!
It was busy when we went so a bit of a wait but it was worth it for the best roasted veggie panini I’ve ever had! Highly recommend
Very impressed. Menu is extensive in variety and has options for everyone. The portions are excellent for a brunch spot and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the area. The service staff were friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. The music and the decor adds wonderfully to the atmosphere as well.
