From the hostess who greeted and seated us, then our server being so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, to the bussing staff staying on top of refilling beverages and clearing dishes and a manager who checked with us to make sure we were happy with the service and our food, it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious! My husbands steak was at the temperature he ordered, my lobster perfectly cooked. Everything tasted delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will visit again in the future. A special thank you to our server Christy! Thanks for making this a great experience for us.

It was our 50th anniversary and have never been to the Whaling Station before. It was an excellent experience. Service outstanding and the quality of our meals were wonderful. I enjoyed appetizers - the shaved prime rib egg roll was mouth wateringly good. The fire cracker shrimp - delicious. The calamari - nice, light coating and perfectly tender. My husband had a New York steak and proclaimed perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We will definitely return.
We had a great meal and were a party of 6. Everyone at the table had a different cut of Steak and had “rave” reviews on all of them. Food came out quick and hot when appropriate. We all highly recommend starting off with the “hand tossed at your table”, Cesar Salad! We have had the same server a few times and always makes us feel welcome❤️

Great venue for a nice piece of steak. The free parking was also a bonus. The staff was very friendly. My wife & I went with another couple & had a very enjoyable meal. The only drawback was that the prices were a little high.

Excellent Food and Drinks, we had prime rib and a filet mignon. With Mushrooms n scalloped potatoes enough to share. Our server Able provided great suggestions for our dinner and added to the dining experience

Started with cocktails ordered 5 appetizers. Panchetta wrapped scallops,calamari,crab cakes,carpaccio and prawn cocktail. And a bottle of Mum's champagne. All were delicious. For main coarse 12 ounce prime rib yum with a glass of Justin Cabernet. To finish our meal we had two pavlovas. Great meal great service great time.

Our female server was absolutely amazing! She knew how to provide personalized service and make a true connection with her guests, which is rare thing these days. She also made sure the birthday girl always had a full glass of bubbles. The back waiters were also super professional, quick, and hospitable The food, of the highest quality, quickest timing and delivery of appetizers to the table ive ever seen. Entree's truly beautiful and tasted amazing. If I had to complain about something... I guess my beef wellington was med instead of med-rare, but it did not at all detour me from devouring it. However birthday girl's short rib was the star of the show, beyond tender, seasoned perfectly, rich and amazing reduction. This is a fun, energetic, slightly loud, amazing steak house, this is a must, and wont be disappointed. OVER ALL 9.5/10 and thats a 5 star review for me.

We were celebrating our anniversary and everyone wished us a happy anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I feel that the price was right for a top quality steak meal. Unlike other steakhouses which offer everything a la carte, their steaks are served with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. You can also purchase additional side dishes. The prime rib egg rolls are a fantastic appetizer.

Amazing food and service. My husband and I have started coming to Whaling Station every anniversary and now we returned as newlyweds. The service was amazing, food was incredible (cucumber cooler drink was to die for ). MUST TRY MONTEREY DATE NIGHT RESTAURANT.
Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and did a wonderful job. He told us all about the daily specials and made a few recommendations. We had prime rib egg rolls and escargot to start, both were top notch. The Beef Wellington was delicious as was the lobster thermador. The side dishes were great too. We finished with pavlova for dessert. Light and refreshing. I will be back again & again.

The filet was melt in your mouth. The side of mushrooms and twice baked potato were delicious and the spicy shrimp appetizer was scrumptious. Cool old school ambience too.

They have their own valet parking where they don't charge. The weight staff, and everyone in the restaurant including the manager was extremely friendly and very helpful. They didn't rush us at all. As soon as my drink got just under half full, they kept filling it. The food was the best steak we've ever had. The calamari was incredible. The salad was wonderful. People there were enjoying working there and we're very kind and considerate. Look like a great place to work. Definitely will be back. Was expensive but that's what you expect for good quality food.
For a steakhouse with pretty decent reviews, we were extremely disappointed with the food. The table side tossed ceasar salad had way too much mustard overpowering all other ingredients. I ordered my prime rib medium rare but it came out brown. I asked the server if this is medium rare and he said yes. I cut the steak to show him the middle and it was cooked almost well done. You know it's a red flag if the server can't tell the steak temp. Their beef Wellington was way too salty. Their cocktail was good.
