Alux Cocina + Mixologia

This place reminds me of Tulum. The atmosphere is great with music and decor. However, the food was 3/5, the salsa and chips need salt. The ALUX Tabla was great! But it is expensive for what you get, there was no sides of rice or beans. My husband got the burger and it didn’t come with fries.. again for the price I would recommend making it a little worth by adding these small additions. I will say the margarita was 100/100, my mother in law was a huge fan, very tasty drinks! If you are looking for a nice place to eat, you are paying for the atmosphere with price vs quantity of food. I will be returning for celebrations or special occasions.

Im going to start with the food. We ordered 2 appetizers, queso fundido wasn't completely melted so it was so difficult to actually get it on our tortilla. Then we ordered the guacamole with chicharrones and the was so delicious. Our actually meals was so so, the enchiladas suizas didn't have any flavor what so ever. Our steaks were OK I had to get some A1. The waitress was fantasía Aracely. The actual server wasn't nice or friendly at all and this was the person who brought our food not Aracely. Our cocktails were delicious. Its a good place for drinks and appetizers. The music was a little loud and it seemed like it was Korean which was nothing with the theme of the restaurant 🤔

First time going, music too loud can’t have a conversation without yelling on top of that the food was so salty I couldn’t eat it. I would never go there again it has a night club theyme. My husband and I are eating dinner and they are hosting a fleet market outside and are requesting people to move their cars while we are eating dinner. Additionally we have no problems spending a couple hundred dollars on food and drinks for something we enjoy, but for 2 people $177 for over salty gross food was disappointing.

Medicore experience and rating for the service. What really bothered me was that I was told there are no paper menus, I had to scan a QR code that is etched into a woodblock on the table. Somewhat annoying, but it gets worse. The QR code doesn't work with Samsung or Google Pixel phones, so neither my date or I could look at the menu. Then, the bartender comes around and scan it on his iPhone and says it works with iPhone and offers to let me look at the menu on his phone. That's no way to run a business. Then he tells me I can go to their website and see the menu. I have to ask for water and when I do decide on a dish, the cook comes out and tells me that don't have that meat, and if I wanted to pick something else. So, I got the ribeye instead, which was delicious.

Tighten up and do better people.

I want to start off with agreeing that this place is aesthetically pleasing, service was also great, we were seated promptly and got our drinks quickly, in regards to food I would have to say it is overpriced for the quality, my husband ordered the filet mignon medium rare with shrimp it unfortunately came out well cooked very dry and with a awful gamey flavor, wouldn’t mind spending the money on quality filet mignon I believe it was supposed to be a 12 oz and this thing was small & only came with 3 shrimps. Drink prices were average for good liquor, another reason for the low rating aside from the food was our bill, we were charged a automatic gratuity fee for a party of 4 (2 were children) which is extreme, there was no special event, no live music no reason to be charged that fee without being made aware of it, our bill came out to $260 gratuity included for 2 appetizer two alcoholic beverages(one being a mezcalita flight) two kids meals and one entree with two added sides @7 each again not extreme for sides but the mashed potatoes were also dry with no flavor, and very small portions, so we go to pay the bill with the undisclosed gratuity included and are unable to complete the checkout without STILL HAVING TO ADD A TIP , that you have no ability to remove or bypass… all together we paid roughly $300 for a very mediocre dinner, I don’t care how beautiful the aesthetics are if I am required to leave a automatic gratuity-fee AND tip ($80) about a 40% of a $220 check that’s extreme!! Went for Mother’s Day and one of the waiters looked lost he was bumping into tables and giving us the wrong plates.. I was super excited for this place because I seen it on tik tok but when we got there the food was NOT IT it was so different from the pictures online. I ordered the 2 quesabirrias and they are supposed to come with a side of rice and beans it didn’t come with beans they said they don’t have any and my mom and brother ordered a steak that came with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus/brocolli and they didn’t have the veggies either and served cold mashed patatoes. Definitely over priced and not worth the price at all food was terrible it’s like they have American people making Mexican food…

The food was delicious. But the service was not good👎

Daaaaayummmmmmm I got the rib eye with the sprouts and smashed potatoes and I’m gonna make this short. I have been to Manny steakhouse locations, and the steak that I got today that I ordered from Luis was the most juiciest tender well done steak that I have ever had in my entire life , the freaking Russell sprouts were phenomenal I’m surprised that place was not super Duper packed for sure. I’m going back for my son’s graduation and spend the shit load of money.😂😂 one more thing I never finish my steak

Only two other tables seated while there. Server ignored his tables spending his time talking to another employee in a corner. When I finally got his attention to get drink refills they were left at the bar untill my wife got up and got them herself. We will not be returning to this place.

Girl the service is terrible 😭 so right when you walk in they ask if you need anything, I asked for a margarita flight and potato wedges. They came really fast with the drinks ( less than 5 minutes) (not really strong I’d say but still very yummy). My side potato wedges took almost 30 minutes to arrive. I understand if perhaps it was a dish or multiple but it was just a side. After waiting for it I just asked for the check which I didn’t really get until I bothered the host about it. Which she was really nice about and didn’t blame her.
Kinda sad because this is a couple min away from home and it’s new. Although new you can see it’s really empty which made the service worse because they weren’t attending anyone just yapping iguess? Anyway as a new spot in moval I would hope their service gets better. I went to DTR afterwards. (This happened Saturday night) . Please hire or get good staff.
