Went in today for coffee and ice cream. Lady at the counter very rude and not inviting and made us feel uncomfortable. Tried to compliment the space thinking she was perhaps the owner but with this “customer service” we will never be back. The guy at the counter seemed to be controlled by the woman. It was weird.

I’ve been living in Morongo a little over 6 months have stopped by for their Banana splits (which are great) but I had family in town visiting from Oklahoma and brought them by and they loved it as well. Great coffee drinks but OH MUH GAWD The Royal Shake! Om Nom Nom! Coming back for another soon! Definitely stop here for coffee or ice cream if you’re passing through the area. Tons of neat stickers, post cards and books too.

We were there around 7ish on a Sunday night. There wasn't hardly anyone there. We ordered and while waiting, and through dinner, we had the best time talking.. The food was excellent! The atmosphere was the best. Yes, go there!

While vacationing in the Desert Hot Springs area, we happened upon this Ice Cream/Coffee shop. After visiting, I highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for a cool afternoon treat or a coffee beverage.

Upon walking in, The Coyote Cone has a charm all of its own that welcomes you in. There is a stationary section, a book section, and a wall to pay it forward for travelers in need. Pretty cool 😎. The ice cream is Thrifty, which personally I love as it takes me back to being a kid. My kids loved it too, getting very generous scoops on a cone and with a mix-in of their choosing on the cone too! There are at least 4 different cone types to chose from and more than a dozen different ice cream flavors. Note: they even have pre-scooped gluten-free, vegan flavors in cups to choose from as well. There was room for us to sit inside and enjoy our ice creams, which was nice. The seating area was clean and inviting.

While we didn't sample the coffee drinks, the menu showed that they serve a full range of coffee and espresso beverages. Something to look forward to on a return visit.

Last, I would commend the staff for the friendliness and service. Multiple members helped my family of four get sorted on our ice cream scoops and were attentive and warm.

Thank you Coyote Cone for being the ice cream oasis my family needed to recharge in the heat of the day in Morongo Valley. We look forward to a time when we can come back and visit.

An ice cream shop in the desert, imagine that. Harder to find than you’d think. Fair prices. Mini cone 1$ is enough for lil kiddos. Minimal food options for bout 8$
Not homemade just the big tubs. Good deal

Local small business supporter here, this was one of the most awkward experiences we had.
When coming in we were greeted by a lady that asked us for what we wanted and when ready to order a young gentleman came in , did not greet any of us. After that there was no conversation made even when paying. Service is 0/5 stars.
I was under the impression that this was homemade ice cream but it is not. However thrifty ice cream is good just nothing that I would need to go to a signature ice parlor for since I could get this at a grocery store.
The prices are fair for what you get, and I love the store. Their little gift shop is wonderful and I love the magnets and the stickers. Hence the two stars.

Unfortunately the service ruined it for us and will not make us come back.

Cutest lil shop in the dessert. Amazing ice cream and decor. Entertainment to die for.

It pains me to write this review because the people are so nice, but this business needs to do better. $10 for a date shake that was made with the cheapest vanilla ice cream (the brand is literally called Thrifty and tastes like a Hopdsie cup) and barely any dates. Such a rip off. You have to have better quality if you are charging big city prices. Was going to return tomorrow morning for coffee on our way out, but now I will not.
