Wandered in exhausted after driving across the country. Didn't know what I wanted to eat except something edible. This was a great choice. With a name like "Hofbrau" you expect German & it wasn't. Very casual, you order & pay up front & your food is brought to you. I chose a seat outside by the water & while tight seating the other patrons were very welcoming to my scooting by. Had a great bowl of clam chowder (with NO bacon, which is important to me - other places put it in), some popcorn shrimp (those were only ok) & a glass of wine. perfect for the night. Would definitely return if back in the area.

Great spot. The heart of Morro Bay. It has great German food and great coastal fare. You'll want to sit outside and watch for playing otters. I never go to Morro Bay without hitting this spot. It can look super busy, but the wait is always short.

Hostess was an absolute delight. Food is INCREDIBLE. Literally never had a better burger or French dip. Super charming, low key. Great value. Would travel back 3 hours to eat here again.
