Place was empty but don't let that deceive you. The food was hot n fast. Delicious. It was just a place we googled on a whim and it was pretty good. Not the best I ever had but I appreciate how fast n piping hot it was.

I always enjoyed the San Luis Obispo location when we ordered from there, and for some Christmas dinner Chinese we made the trek to pick up a good sized order from the original. The atmosphere was lovely, but we were just picking up so I defaulted 5 stars.
The order was accurate and the staff was perfectly friendly. The food was just as I remember from the SLO location. I got a dense, savory, salty shrimp fried rice and enjoyed every bite. The sweet and sour chicken was breaded evenly, sauced completely and delicious. The honey walnut shrimp was something is never tried before and dang it was good.. big plump breaded shrimp on the sweet salty honey sauce with some toasted walnuts across the top.. the magic touch for me was what seemed like some bits of Kewpie or other high quality mayo in the bottom that gave such a rich creaminess to the bites of juicy shrimp.. I will be back just to order this, ideally alongside my shrimp fried rice for a super shrimp overload. The spring rolls where nothing special but hot and crispy when picked up.
The restaurant is a little on the pricey side but I think you get what you pay for and bamboo bamboo has filled the hole in my heart left from Mandarin Gourmet's retirement and closure. Go here and have some great food!

Have never had their food before, the times I have been here just for DoorDash the service has been horrible + having to wait 30+ minutes for an order. The receptionist is rude and they need a better ticket system!!!! Just being in there watching everything stressed me out

Gave me the wrong order was first and only customer feel like they did that on purpose although they have good food they don't care if they give you the correct order even if your the only customer to focus on

Went here with family during a visit, and it was quite good! Was happy to see there was a few vegetable or tofu options as well, since I don't eat meat.

Ordered. Noodles, orange chicken, white rice. They didn’t send soy sauce. I didn’t ask for it specifically but seriously? Are you really that stingy? Never ordering from this place again. Plenty of other Chinese places that sen sauces without you having to ask for it.
This is our go-to Chinese takeout place locally. There isn't as much competition for great Asian food in the SLO area as there is in The Bay or LA, but we think Bamboo Bamboo has the best Chinese food around!

Surprisingly good. The thing about Chinese food is everyone has their own opinion of what it should taste like but being from Hawaii and half Chinese myself I understand that there are many types of Chinese food. The old standard in the US was Cantonese. Then there's Sichuan that's more spicy, etc. Since they had Char siu pork I assume they do more Cantonese and they do it fairly well IMHO. Unfortunately Chinese food can easily become too greasy or too rich for some. But our food was fresh and still very tasty. Was it the best I've ever had? No. But I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Bamboo Bamboo.

DONT Eat HERE
Omg, worst Chinese food I ever had. Broccoli chicken dish was horrible. What was the so call chicken because it was scary looking that I just threw it away. And the beef was no beef I ever had, watch your animals cuz I think they are using that are they go on a road trip to find the dead road kills and use that
Beware
Just skip the lemon chicken altogether. Very literally the toughest chicken I’ve EVER had. They waved a lemon over it and called it lemon chicken. So disappointing.

Okay so if you are reading the comments and wondering whether not these reviews are too exaggerated or not true let me tell you, THEY ARE NOT. First our food came and we noticed that the vegetables were wayyyy to undercooked and raw even in some places, potstickers where not fully cooked and had a wierd taste too them. We got the Kung pao chicken and a plate of chowmein, let me tell you they had no taste to them at all mind you as a POC I KNOW FLAVOR AND SPICE this had neither. We also got garlicky string bean which was weirdly gelantanous and flavorless had no garlic flavor what so ever. Mind you we got their “BEST SELLER” 🫥 ps: never left a review on anything but this was that bad a true disappointment.
Also when we spoke to the people in charge they said “thats how the food should be”😟 like be for real.
OVERALL: DONT EAT HERE unless you want flavorless food that’s undercooked.
