Lovely spot in Morro Bay! Came on a busy holiday weekend. Other places had a line; we were seated immediately. Laid back vibe. Our server Selena was attentive. Baked mac n cheese was killer, along with the brussels and filet mignon fajita tacos.
Great wine selection and food options. Unfortunately, the servers care more about the owners who flaunt they are the owners taking up the front 3 tables on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We sat with empty drinks for over 15 mins and never got help. We were the only other customers there who were present with the owners. We decided to close out and go somewhere else.
The Wine Selection Was Great And The Crab Cakes Were VERY GOOD. The Service Was Very Nice And Friendly.
Great Tacos!
Fantastic service from Ian! The charcuterie was absolutely amazing, and a great amount of food for the price. It paired very well with the Pinot blanc 👍🏻 The patio seating with the heaters is great for relaxing and people watching. Can’t go wrong at Stax!
We found the lettuce wraps to be underwhelming , the caprice salad was made with cherry tomatoes, not our best food experience , service was very pleasant.
Sitting nice and quietly off to the side, watching people and cars go by while enjoying some of the best food I have had in my life at some of the best prices. That chocolate mousse especially is to die for. The service from Malia was great as well, she was on the ball and incredibly kind and fun.
Decided to eat here with family as it was one of the very few restaurants open past 6/7 pm. Great wine selection. We had the crostini and Margherita pizza. Really tasty, fresh and hit the spot. Our server was very friendly gave us tips of other activities and sights we should consider while in town. They were accommodating to our small service dog and had gas lamps to keep us warm.
Had nice ambience with holiday music playing in the background.
Highly recommend!
We saw Stax while driving in and decided to stop in and we are glad we did. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our waitress Cece was very nice and took care of us. We will definitely come back.

We loved the food but the service was very lacking. No smiles, no checking that out order was good, had to get up and go ask for my glass of wine. Don’t know if I will be back with that service.

The food is OK, but if you are vegan, there is not much of anything to choose from. My husband who is not vegan, wanted to order the lettuce wraps but the waiter said they were out of lettuce. Then he wanted a margarita but they only serve beer and wine. We asked for ice for our drinks they said they don't have ice.
They never even asked us if we wanted dessert they just brought the bill. Overall, not the best experience.

Hands down the best food in Morro Bay. Okay, okay, hear me out! Wine Bar right, think again. These guys take elegance and food to a whole new level of experience and expectation. Not your average charcuterie and wine pairing type of place. Looking for deep fried garbage they offer at every restaurant in Morro Bay, this is not your place. Amazing food, staff, atmosphere with a little bit of something for everyone. Skeptical at first we tried their Chilli Cheese dog and paired that with their Baloney sandwich. Why stop there, right? We then decided on the Ultimate Crustini’s and two bottles of Emmolo Merlot.
Atmosphere!! We chose outside and boy were we glad. The characters you see in this small town not to mention (Location, Location)!! Seeing people navigate the 4 way stop and the Hill in front of their establishment was the ultimate added bonus. They have fire pillars for the cold weather and the front is in a protected area with umbrellas for added protection from the sun.
Staff! Everyone who works there loves their job and you can tell by the service they give and the smiles on everyone’s face. They genuinely care about their customers and their dinning experience within their establishment.
If you’re looking for something more elevated, we came back to dinner that evening and hand picked our own Fillet Mignon and Ahi Tuna. The portions were big enough for two or three people and again we were extremely satisfied with the food, the service, the atmosphere and our whole dining experience.
Don’t think about it, just go and I promise you will leave full, happy and if need be, slightly buzzed!!
Cheers

Stax in Morro Bay is an absolute charmer! We stopped in for some lovely wine and were delighted by the experience. This corner spot is buzzing with energy all day long. The team is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and so much fun!
Whether you're in the mood for a glass of wine or some amazing nibbles, Stax is the perfect place to take a break while exploring Morro Bay. You won’t be disappointed!

I'm in Morro a lot during the weekdays and sad that they aren't open during the week. The hours are fri-sun.
There's indoor seating, but we're big patio people. This place is perfect for patio sitting with a drink in your hand while enjoying the weather and people watching. We enjoyed conversing and sharing laughs with others on the patio. The staff is super cool, and the girls are so sweet. They have a nice list of beer and wine. I got the Bernet Rosè and it was cold and refreshing. My boyfriend got the Cali Squeeze blood orange beer and it was cold and crisp.
Dog friendly.
