Stumbled onto this spot by chance. I love the rustic authenticity of the place. Grilled rock cod was perfect and the oysters are huge and super tasty. They were also really friendly to our pups.
Fresh, well-cooked seafood. We split the calamari & white seabass special (along with veggie & salad sides), and everything was tasty. Prices are fairly high but portions are LARGE so factor that in when ordering.
We always looked towards coming here every trip to the coast but seems like every recent visit gets worse. Really disappointed in the food this trip to the point it will be our last. Portion sizes are smaller. The food isn’t as good as it used to be to us. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great but we wish they would take a good look at the meals and portions.
Fresh food and great atmosphere, live music. A bigger plus is it's dog friendly. ❤️
The combo seafood platter was delicious. The clam chowder was so tasty! We will be back for sure!!
Dockside will always be my go to spot in morro bay. Great live music, Great seafood, Great atmosphere. This whole fish was on special for $5. IT WAS EXCELLENT!!!! People will complain of lack of flavor, but Its a fish market with an oven in the back. Fresh seafood with salt and pepper is just fine by me.
Edit: this is the outside location. Not the sit down restaurant next door. Different menus.
We went on a busy holiday weekend 4th of July. Very busy even for an early dinner. Parking was a challenge so we walked from our hotel. Service was good. I enjoyed the Manhattan chowder which is harder to find. It was very good as was our salad and the Baja barbeque oysters were huge and yummy. Nice choice of wines too.
When ever I travel to the Morro Bay community I visit Dockside, even have left my residence at 0500 a.m. for breakfast and of course dinner. Really good food, nice view of bay...but more over the friendly staff. One of my favorite restaurants on the coast. Come and have a pleasant dining experience.

Got fish & chips for $18; got 3 tiny pieces that tasted flat. Fries were good. Didn't care for the clam chowder, either. Did not taste like clam chowder.
The ambiance and service was great,
though. :)

Save your money! I tried to like this place, but the nice view couldn't overcome the horrible service and tasteless greasy food. Stay away from the fish and chips!

Food was on point, service was fast. Waitress needed a break, but otherwise it was definitely worth it. Dog friendly at outdoor tables.

We have been here about ten to twenty times. Our fish has been under cooked 50% of the time. Last night it was scary under cooked. That is when I was informed that I would be o.k. after taking a bite, because it had been flash frozen at sea, which begged the question: "why did it need to be flash frozen?" Don't ask this question. Anyway, it was pretty gross tasting. Though we both ordered the same dish, our fishes were both seasoned differently and looked different, begging more questions. The clam chowder was good, but it didn't come with crackers. Our bill is consistently $80 for two people, including the tip. Our Server was awesome and tried to help. She offered various solutions, but, today I feel like I need to do a cleanse after eating there. I don't know... but we are going here again.
