I’m a local and I’ve just been disappointed too many times to go back. Careful if you order a super burrito as they often don’t add and sour cream or guac (or it’s so minimal you literally can’t see it). The nearly $20 “super” burrito I picked up tonight is basically rice and beans and is tiny! Not worth it at all.

Great tacos, fantastic salsa, excellent little hole in the wall taqueria. Daily special was fantastic, and the buche and carne asada were both to die for

Kid-friendliness: Family-friendly, arcade game available

Wheelchair accessibility: Normal doors, but access is at-grade on a fairly level parking lot. Counter is a bit high

Great little taqueria, good food options with decent pricing. We live up the street so we have been here a few times. It is a small shop so there’s limited seating availability. It is also just screened-in so there isn’t much air conditioning. The first time we came there were a lot of flies inside, but they were gone when we came back a few weeks later. The food is good albeit a little high priced. If you live in the area, it’s worth a try!

Solid place to stop along the road for a quick, filling meal for reasonable price. Simple menu to follow and staff was friendly.

My brother-in-law and I went to this taqueria after we did some kayaking in Half Moon Bay. He lives out in Detroit, but I’m a Bay Area native. Somehow, I never came here… it’s so good! I got the 3 enchilada plate with Carnitas, Cheese, and Shrimp. The salad was perfect and the rice and beans were perfect too. Also seriously noteworthy was the plate of chips and fresh diced tomato salsa. They had this pickled bell pepper, onion, and jalapeno that was like nothing I’ve ever had before. I got the jamaica to drink, and it was refreshing, but could be a little more tangy!

My brother in law got al pastor super tacos and he loved them. The last time we got a chance to go kayaking was in Puerto Vallarta, and after that we also got tacos and Taqueria type fare.

I can’t praise this taqueria enough. I wish I could go today.

Avoid. If mediocre, overpriced Mexican food in a dirty, rundown shack of a building is your thing, this is your place. But, for the rest us who would like to enjoy "good" food in a building that isn't ready to be torn down, its best to keep driving either north or south to get a Mexican meal worth the money. And the service? The joke is the only service they provide is rudely taking your money and handing you food. Unless you speak Spanish, they will look down on you, pretend not to understand English and certainly won't make you feel like they depend on you to keep the business open. El Gran Amigo is a sad business and an embarrassment to the Moss beach/Montara community.

Vegetarian options: Can get veggie taco and burrito- I think even the torta just ask for beans and rice instead of meat
