Always a hit when we go here. Cioppino is a hit here.
The halibut and fries were flaky, flavorful wonders. Blue point oysters are great quality. They recently expanded next door for additional inside seating between the outdoor seating and now have a full deli to buy your fresh seafood at the counter like before at the old site. Only sad part i do miss is being able to walk to the beach that used to be right in the backyard of the old site. Otherwise, great food and great people.

3 stars for service and atmosphere cause its counter ordering and just table inside or outside ... so no atmosphere. I had the cod fish & chips. very tasty and a hearty portion. you get 5 pieces of fish. hone, more than one person should probably be eating and at $29.95 I'd rather get 3 pieces and pay $18-21 for the meal. its a pretty pricey place. with that said, I think you get the value just portions are too big. I don't love the new location but🤷🏻♂️.

We just enjoy this place so much. Phil's recently moved, but it still has the same amazing food. Every time we are in the area we head over to get some of that amazing Cioppino and other incredible dishes.

I miss the old location. Ordered a few kids meals for the kids and a cup of chowder and a steamed artichoke for myself. Kids meals were charged a higher price than the menu price ($12.95 on the menu and charged $15.95). My soup came out and I didn't get a spoon with it. Had to go up and ask for one. We ordered waters with our food and never got them. Food was tasty, but service wasn't so great, especiallybecause there were only 2 other small groups there. I did love the friendly kitty outside though!

Love the food… Generous quantities consider sharing if you’re not a big eater… I miss the old fields and the funky restaurant near the beach, but this place is definitely worth going to

What Phil's no longer has in views and vibe, it definitely makes up in food quality and convenience.
We had the seafood cioppino bowl and a fried snapper sandwich, both of which were abundant and fresh and perfectly prepared.
The cioppino had two large crab leg claws, numerous bay scallops, lots of cod chunks, several shrimp and calamari, and mussels and clams.
The enormous snapper filet was very lightly breaded and sort of baked/fried perfectly flat and served on toasted light sourdough slices with fries and tartar sauce with lettuce tomato and red onions and pickle slices on the side.
Good thing we skipped both dinner and breakfast before having lunch at Phil's Fish 😉

The entrance door is always closed and they don't open up. And you can see people inside. What a load of ghost town nonsense.

Very fresh seafood! Yummy! Got the cioppino and clam chowder and artichokes. Tons of food. Definitely recommend going. It's a little out of the way and no frills

Food was OK. Went for the cioppino but was disappointed. Expected a lighter broth and flavor. Tried the clam chowder and wasn't impressed. The fish and chips were OK. Nothing that makes me want to go out of my way to go back but nothing bad.

Their clam chowder was very pasty. I did not like that at all. That was the main reason. I’m sure their fried food was fine but it’s hard to ruin fried food unless you burn it. Their fish is fresh. But I would not go there again.

You seem to have an awful lot of fish on the menu.
The food is over priced. The service is even worse. Sat outside looking at the menu. Server or who ever the lady was who took my order at the counter walked by twice. Didn't once look to turn on the heater next to my table to keep my kids warm. I even asked as I walked inside to place my order. Ciopino was tangy. But decent amount of crab. And seafood. Garlic bread side? No garlic, just sourdough taste. Crab stuffed sole was ok. Ciopino $37. Anything halibut was $37 for a plate. Even 2 halibut tacos was $37. I think I've had better elsewhere for cheaper. Can't say I'd come back for this price. It's definitely a tourism spot. I can't say the fish was anymore or less fresh than other places. But prices are definitely on par with Monterey tourism.

This place has really gone downhill, used to be good with a line out the door ... not now and the food is why. $30 for the mixed fish and chips. 2 small pieces of cod, 2 small strips of calamari, 7 petite bay scallops, small handful of fries. NOT worth it. Bathrooms were foul. Parking is a little sketchy. Wife got chicken cesear salad which the chicken was dry and smashed flat. Only person happy was one child that got a cup of clam chowder.
Better off heading down the way to Pacific Grove or Monterey. You can eat at a fancy restaurant for this cost and get way better food/experience. Sad.
