Lalo's Méxican Restaurant

Lalo’s was great! I wish it hadn’t gone out of business. 😢

The service was actually the best thing out of this restaurant. The waitress was very helpful, polite and was on top making sure we were happy. But the food is a joke, it's whitewashed Mexican food. Nothing had salt except for the beans, the beans were actually pretty good. The rice is basically brown rice, not Spanish rice. The carne asada was a flank steak which was good but ordering carne asada I'd rather have carne asada than a chewy flank steak. The chips we're not salted and taste store bought, and the salsa that comes with it is basically tomato juice. Everything needed Salt, which is fine to salt a taste but everything needed salt except for the beans. Would not recommend this place, due to not being an actual Mexican restaurant. It is whitewash Mexican food, worse than Taco Bell. And the prices are very expensive, I understand it's mt Shasta and it's a small town but the lack in quality in the food on top of paying $5 more than other restaurants that have a better quality it's not worth it.

Margaritas were great! We both had tostadas, pulled pork and shredded beef. No flavor at all, asked for guacamole and sour cream which we were charged for. $75 for one margarita each and the meal. Taco Bell tastes way better less than 25%. Make your own margaritas and go to taco bell

Lalos is really great. It's centrally located right on the main drag, has outdoor seating, a full bar and conference/event space. Prices are not the lowest but everywhere seems overpriced these days.

I'm personally confused as to the overall star rating of this restaurant (it should be higher)! My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. The food was fresh and flavorful, along with the margaritas! I got the combination plate with two shredded chicken enchiladas, while my husband got the combination plate with a shredded beef enchilada and chili relleno. We both were a part of the "clean plate club". There is really nice outdoor seating, and the inside atmosphere has a rustic, western type feel with authentic music playing softly in the background. The staff was very friendly and accommodating- very genuine and helpful. I would highly recommend Lalo's, and my husband and I would definitely return!

I tried Lalos for the first time for breakfast, I have been wanting huervo Ranchero for a while. It comes with hash browns and toast. They have the tortilla, refried beans, red sauce, and eggs. The red sauce was very lacking in flavor, like it came out of a can from the dollar tree, 3 ingredients. I wouldn't get this again. I would go back to Lalos for non Mexican food, give their steaks a try. Service was really good, and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, with a great outdoor eating area.
