Black Bear Diner Reviews
Friendly staff and good food. We enjoyed our breakfast.
My husband and I were threatened and harassed by an employee yesterday on our way in . Nothing was done about it. Only witness was a young blonde girl in a white dodge Challenger she looked like an employee as well...never been so mistreated

The Black Bear Diner Mt. Shasta offers comforting and tasty food with friendly service. As the very first location of this diner, it attracts visitors who don’t want to miss the experience. The restaurant is often busy, but many customers have praised the attentive service, particularly from servers like Britany, who goes above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. While some guests have found the atmosphere and service quality inconsistent, recent reviews highlight that food is served in a timely manner and with a smile. The diner is known for its delicious meals, and customers have rated the food as magnificent, with prices being reasonable. The atmosphere is easy-going, making it a good spot after activities like hiking, biking, or boating. Portions are generous and flavorful, perfect for big appetites. Some visitors mention that the food can be hit or miss; for example, an omelet with potatoes was not cooked properly, with the potatoes being soft and raw on the inside. Service can sometimes feel rushed, with bills given quickly and without offers to order more items to go. Despite this, many guests find the staff, especially Britany, to be professional and friendly, even during busy times. The limited gift shop still draws some attention, but the focus remains on providing satisfying meals in a welcoming setting.
