I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dong Lai Shun, and I must say it was an absolute delight! This restaurant is the epitome of traditional Chinese cuisine, and the Beijing copper hot pot is simply out of this world. If you are a fan of lamb and beef, then you simply must pay a visit to Dong Lai Shun. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection in the hot pot, which is an experience in itself. But what really made this meal stand out were the traditional sauces that accompanied the hot pot, each one with its own unique flavor and spice level. The service at Dong Lai Shun was also top-notch. The chef personally came out to our table and introduced us to the best ways to enjoy the hot pot dishes, which was a lovely touch. And with so many choices on the menu, including shrimp, mushroom, fish, and more, we were spoiled for choice. For those looking to try something a little more special, I highly recommend reserving ahead of time for the Peking duck and Squirrels Fish. These dishes were simply incredible and a true highlight of the meal.If you are in the mood for some truly authentic Chinese cuisine, then this is the place for you. From the classic hot pot to the exceptional service, everything about this restaurant was absolutely amazing. Five stars all around!
The indoor decoration is amazing, beautiful and quality. As I know Dong Lai Shun is a famous Chinese Muslim restaurant in Beijing, and it is specialized in Northern Muslim Cuisine. The menu did not have lots of choices, and the chef also told us that some dishes were not available. The food was served quickly, and the quality deserved Dong Lai Shun’s reputation. No mistakes and very yummy. The only negative part was that the chef was busy cooking and dealing with customer service at the same time, and it seemed overwhelming.
Went there for a gathering so we had buffet-style . food was about average but was very over-priced. Won't go there again, thats for sure.
Perfect place to have authentic and traditional Beijing dishes. The owner chef is very knowledgeable and friendly.
They provide authentic Beijing food and it tastes really good! The lamb slices are really thin and tasty. The sauce is super flavorful. It’s the perfect dinner for a cold night.
Quick service, nice informal ambience and friendly staff. The food was fine, bith starters and main course - the accompanying sauces were really good.Features: Staff wear masks
Parking: Large public parking nearby
We went there and even called in twice!!!! They said it was open But it never open it!!! And we can also see people walking around inside the restaurant, the store it suppose to close at 8pm, we got there at 7 and it was closed already!!!! Don't even come to this place!!!!
The hot pot is authentic! As a boy grew up in Beijing I can prove that.If you’re trying to find some real northern China hotpot, give this place a try
The food is bland. I think giving it two stars might be pushing it. I've never tasted Chinese food so sub-par.
A ridiculous place. Food is great, but the owner seems like not interested in maintaining his business. All the food were not there and was prepare from scratch. Many dishes are not in stock. Service is terrible. The owner who is the only server is like my boss when I was dining. His face is like written “accept and eat, or go”…Two stars are for the meat, food and dip dish quality. Otherwise it should be zero star.

Great place for a quick bite
Another Chinese restaurant to join the ranks of mediocre Chinese restaurants in Mountain View. The only consistency to the cooking here is the disappointment from plate to stomach. Outside of the wonton soup, there's rarely an instance where the meal tastes particularly bad (albeit rather oily). It's just so subpar for the price you pay.$18 for thin flaps of salt and pepper fish fillet? Of which only enough to serve 1 person? $12 for the wonton soup (recent $3 price hike out of nowhere) where the wonton's pork tastes partly sour, as if it had been left out long enough for the fat to gelatinize into a slime? In a sense, perhaps the lack of quality in Chinese restaurants in Mountain View is a saving grace of sorts. It keeps the standards down and no one is the wiser.
I rated 2 stars just to avoid 1start rating being deleted. Squirrel fish has absolutely no flesh. Only fried crust.
I ordered a pickup through DoorDash but the restaurant was never open. I had to order from the restaurant next to this place and I still got charged from this place. Thanks a lot.
Omg had the spicy fish and immediately my tongue started to feel weird. At first ignored it but it got worse. My husband said it was the msg. How much did they have to put for this reaction? Our 1st and last visit.
