I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dong Lai Shun, and I must say it was an absolute delight! This restaurant is the epitome of traditional Chinese cuisine, and the Beijing copper hot pot is simply out of this world.If you are a fan of lamb and beef, then you simply must pay a visit to Dong Lai Shun. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection in the hot pot, which is an experience in itself. But what really made this meal stand out were the traditional sauces that accompanied the hot pot, each one with its own unique flavor and spice level.The service at Dong Lai Shun was also top-notch. The chef personally came out to our table and introduced us to the best ways to enjoy the hot pot dishes, which was a lovely touch. And with so many choices on the menu, including shrimp, mushroom, fish, and more, we were spoiled for choice.For those looking to try something a little more special, I highly recommend reserving ahead of time for the Peking duck and Squirrels Fish. These dishes were simply incredible and a true highlight of the meal.If you are in the mood for some truly authentic Chinese cuisine, then this is the place for you. From the classic hot pot to the exceptional service, everything about this restaurant was absolutely amazing. Five stars all around!

The indoor decoration is amazing, beautiful and quality.As I know Dong Lai Shun is a famous Chinese Muslim restaurant in Beijing, and it is specialized in Northern Muslim Cuisine.The menu did not have lots of choices, and the chef also told us that some dishes were not available. The food was served quickly, and the quality deserved Dong Lai Shun’s reputation. No mistakes and very yummy.The only negative part was that the chef was busy cooking and dealing with customer service at the same time, and it seemed overwhelming.

Owner provided great service by getting up early to prepare the six Peking ducks I ordered for a Saturday lunch. Ducks were mostly great except that some parts of them had heavy duck smell.

I ordered takeout and got something that looked nothing like the photos i saw on yelp. I'm so disappointed that i lost my appetite after the first few bites and i am still hungry. Yelp has a minimum number of characters for reviews but I am so sad that this is all I can muster. Overpriced and disappointing. Spend your money elsewhere.

Came here at 6pm on a weekday for dinner with the family. The restaurant door was open, the lights were very dim. There was no host or waitress or customers to be seen. We heard someone in the kitchen and called out to see if they are open. The person in the kitchen came out and seemed reluctant to let us know if the restaurant was opened but did eventually gave us a menu and told us to seat ourselves. We asked if we could order, the person said only certain items and went back to the kitchen (no additional info provided. We left since we don't think they are open?? The odd thing is we called the day before to ensure they were open/don't require reservations. This was super bizarre. Not sure if the restaurant was understaffed or even operational.

Really strange experience, wish I could give this less stars. The hours for today 3/5 at this place closed the restaurant at 9:30 pm. I placed my order at 7:30pm for an 8 pm pickup. As I arrived the doors were locked , there was only one group of people in the entire restaurant while the doors were locked with them inside. I had to get someone's attention from the outside to call a cook that eventually opened the door and rudely asked me to wait without apologizing for the locked doors during service. Anyhow long story short I asked the cook whom delivered and charged me for the food why they had the doors locked and the cook rudely responded without any sense of customer service or acknowledgement that the door was not locked and also mentioned that he couldn't do everything and pay attention to the door as well. He was extremely angry man with horrible customer service. Do not come here !!! Chow mein did not smell right either.Paid $60 for vegetable chow mein and orange chicken. Damn , I'm a glutton for punishment!

We went there and even called in twice!!!! They said it was open But it never open it!!! And we can also see people walking around inside the restaurant, the store it suppose to close at 8pm, we got there at 7 and it was closed already!!!! Don't even come to this place!!!!

酸辣粉（sour spicy noodle, shown in the picture below) it was delicious! It's a cold dish however so if you don't mind, should definitely try it. The owners of the restaurant were super nice and accommodating. It is a difficult time for any businesses and we were so happy to support such a business. We are so looking forward to coming back to this restaurant when it's fully open! I highly recommend anyone to check out this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

Dong go! This was mediocrel, expensive Chinese food. The egg drop soup was fine. The chicken fried rice was yuck. The fried rice was too hard and greasy. How do you screw up this simple dish? The place was totally empty, but we ordered takeout.
