Good pasta

Decent restaurant for Italian food. I usually order a pasta here and have not been disappointed, but also have never been impressed. This restaurant is right by where I lived, so it was easy to walk over for a quick dinner. There is usually no wait and it does not get busy. Service is fast and you get your food fairly quickly.

When Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi Too! used to have their location in San Jose, we used to get their family meal all the time. It was a particular favorite for my grandpa before he passed away. We wanted to try the only other location now so we ordered the family meal to go. The chicken was good. It tasted the same but it was smaller than we were used to. The salad and the pizza were ok, nothing spectacular but good enough. The penne bolognese was better than usual, but the penne calabrese was bland and disappointing. This used to be our favorite pasta from the other location so we were super bummed that this it didn't taste the same as we remembered it. Overall, it brings back nostalgic memories from the past. I would come back to get the bolognese but I'll skip the family meal.

I've Door Dashed this restaurant quite a few times during COVID. The food has always been consistent, and tasty, I mean, really flavorful . Today I was really impressed, the order is always prompt,, and warm considering the drive time, but today it was right out of the kitchen hot. Thanks you to the staff and drivers.

Pizza is Top Notch! Take out always busy; 45 minute wait, but it was ready when I showed up. So under promise and over deliver... it's a good thing! Hostess/cashier not very personable, but hey, we're not there for the atmosphere; Just great pizza! ?

This review will contain mixed emotions for me as I was fortunate enough to finally try their pizza here this past weekend, but I also learned that they will be closing on May 30th of 2021 and will re-open sometime in 2023(as their website states). Our friends decided to hold a backyard get together this past weekend, and since they're residents of Mountain View, this has been their family go to for Italian food since they were little. I had tried several different types of their pizza and my favorite was definitely their Tina's Too Too Much pizza(salami, pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, onion, bell pepper, linguica). It is not thin crust style or deep dish but it's somewhere in the middle, as each slice feels hefty in your hands but you can still carefully fold it in half and happily munch away. I also had a few bites from the Calamari appetizer plate, and I liked how chewy and not too full of batter each bite contained. Although I'm new to FJL's, I can't help feel a bit sad that they will not be open for business again for quite some time. I will happily be back in 2023, hopefully earlier in the year than later in the year.

An institution in Mountain View. I am very sad to see it go - last day is May 30. They say they will reopen in 2 years. Everything around it on that same block is under construction, so only time will tell. Our server was seriously overworked and running around. He kept apologizing. We kept the order simple with pizza and salads. I love the chewy crust. However the pizza was cold and the toppings were right out of a can. Not enough cheese for me. Ask for bread with the garlic butter to start. The floor was dirty. The carpet had stains. There were items in the floor like a pair of reading glasses. Perhaps it's time for a change. Please come back with better ingredients and a clean restaurant. Ciao FJ&L!

Came in to eat tonight because my hubby wanted eggplant parm. This is our favorite place to pizza so tonight was a different style. Tables appropriately separate but only 2 waiters who were bussing, serving, cleaning and probably cooking so not great. Food was ok, my spaghetti was fair to good but plentiful. Hubby had enough eggplant parm and spaghetti for 2-3 dinners but it wasn’t great. We came home with a full dinner for tomorrow but we should stick to pizza!! Restaurant closes end of May for 2 years so come in fast for your pizza fix!!

The manager needs some customer service training. The bar staff was great! However I love this place. Been going there for over 15yrs. Glad to see the made it through the pandemic but the staff needs to beware we have little money and less patience for bad customers service with our hard earned dollars these days. But show the local businesses some love! We love them and need them!I'll come back
