The perfect place to end a night (and start the next day...)
No food but you can bring whatever you want
This is a gem
Shittiest service in the Bay. Not worth it. Go anywhere else.
Every one knows your name!
Conveniently located watering hole has a good selection of booze and a nice food truck out back starting at 5pm.
The place is the only Mountain View Ol Skoo Cheersish... Unpretentious bar ..
Politics is not allowed but most people are from the Norman Rockwell America ..
Dogs allowed.
And some hipsters soo.
PBR and shot specials for the working man
Staff is way chill
Only the Asian dude you see occasionally is a bit chilly, but almost never there
Juke box, pool table and occasionally free hot dogs
They have for order White Castles, Hot Pockets, Corn Dogs and Polish Sausages
Did karoake, had some beer, it was a lot of fun! Beer was good. Thursday night is karaoke night here.

Unwelcoming. Like being in line at airport security, but less comfortable than that!

Great dive bar with TVs, pool table, jukebox, and an outdoor area.
Bartender wasn’t the friendliest, but I’m not there to talk to the bartender anyway

Stopped in last Thursday to sing karaoke like I should have back in mid 2016 when I had the pleasure of being introduced to two of my, then new BFs, very best friends. The kind who are family, and as such are sorely missed now that they are not with us anymore. I always looked forward to the easy feeling I got when I walked in the door. A round of Guinness for Paul and Pierce, a red headed slut for me, and a mixed drink I can't remember the name of, because I never had the pleasure of buying her one, for April. I loved listening to her sing her heart out, wherever we were drinking cause it was Kareoke night and April was a song bird, the life of whatever space she occupied. Always ready to brighten my day with a smile, the very best hugs, a ear to listen, or to laugh at all the stupid kinsey 5 or 6 references concerning myself and other friends. Just remembered the time I wrote Kinsey 6 on someone's glass with a wax pencil and they kept giving the same glass back to the person for over a week because it didn't come off when they washed it. I got it off easily of course with a napkin, a little elbow grease and a final wipe with a bar towel dipped in hot water. Pierce and I stopped going shortly after that because it was too hard, when Paul wasn't going to be there to lose a pool game to anymore. Anyhow...all that being said...my most recent experience was a mix bag, of mostly positive interactions. Rode my high powered electric kick scooter there from my home a few miles away, only to have it stolen in the last half hour that I was there. Sang a couple random songs that I knew might be simple enough for me to pull them off...still failed but had a good time. Made a couple of new friends, and possibly offended another person because sometimes, I'm far to blunt and forward with my compliments...so if you're that person and reading this, I apologize. I hope you know it was from a place of sincerity. Met the new to me bartenders Red and Sarah (?) who were EXTREMELY helpful, sympathetic, and did their best to make sure I felt heard, and cared for. They made sure I had the contact information I needed to follow up, a drink to settle my nerves, and a safe ride home at a little after 1am. I will forever be grateful for the support they gave, and admired their level headed, confident, and diplomatic way of handling such a tricky situation. They are both to be commended for their customer service, and follow through the next day. I look forward to singing there again soon.
Sorry I am between jobs and was not able to afford a drink, but hopefully my previous and future patronage will make up for my inability to support my favorite bar that night
Parking: parking both in front and rear of the building.

New to the area and found Fred’s. I was welcomed in and felt like a regular day 1. The bartenders pour great drinks, the atmosphere is laid back and casual. Red, Sarah, and the rest of the staff introduced me to others which has allowed me to make some great new friends. Highly recommend this place if you like a great “dive” type bar.
