It was a slow, warm day, so I decided to stop by Johnny and Sanny for lunch and enjoy their outdoor seating with my pup. The relaxed atmosphere made it a perfect afternoon spot — peaceful, welcoming, and pet-friendly.
I ordered the branzino, which comes out as a whole fried fish topped with crispy basil. Hands down, it was one of the best branzinos I’ve had on Castro Street — perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. The presentation alone was impressive, but the taste sealed the deal.
I also remember the cocktails being both interesting and delicious — clearly crafted with care and creativity.
If you’re looking for a spot that combines great food, thoughtful drinks, and a laid-back vibe (bonus: dog-friendly patio!), Johnny and Sanny deserves a visit. This place is an absolute gem in downtown Mountain View.

We like Doppio Zero and usually go there. Today, Doppio Zero was full and they suggested us to try their new location at Johnny and Sanny down the street.
Atmosphere is great. Food is also good but we still prefer Doppio Zero. Service was a big miss. I asked our waiter some questions about the menu and he got impatient and said why I couldn't just read the menu. Then he complained our kids were too loud when the whole restaurant was loud. We didn't feel welcomed there, probably won't go again.

Everything was so nice! Food was delicious!! The steak was extremely tender with an amazing flavor, the pasta was cooked perfectly and also had lots and lots of yummy flavor, and the antipasti dishes were a good size for an appetizer and were very delicious. The service was incredible, we constantly had someone checking on us and making sure we got our drinks refilled and any other request we had. Such a pretty restaurant, I highly recommend! They've also only been open for a few months so go support!!

Nice new Italian place. Great atmosphere and friendly service. The cocktails are creative and beautiful and the food that I tried was delicious (broccolini) but I wish they had move vegan options.

Great service, atmosphere. Outside dining space is perfect if you have a pup. Drinks are well crafted. Food is tasty - Grandma’s meatballs, octopus are nice, plus they have daily specials - always fresh. Nice to have a new option in Mountain View.

We were skeptical to try this place (we had just come back from Italy, and another Italian in Mountain View??) but it really exceeded our expectations. The fried calamari was above average, the pear salad was super fresh and delicious, the gnocchi is the one of the best I've tried, and they have a delicious coffee chocolate dessert. Great cocktails and service too, highly recommend.
