It’s simply a must, period!
Vegetarian food was okay, but Service was great and the atmosphere gave a good vibe.
Our server was so excellent. He helped everyone find something they loved.
Creative cocktail menu
We have been to Mantra on my birthday, we were total 5 people, the food and service was good (less spicy) , they gave us complementary dessert and it was very tasty, this place is expensive but if budget is not an issue then go for it, parking was not an issue as one block away there was huge free public parking
I wanted to try new Indian restaurant, hence drove for half an hour on a hungry morning. I really liked the ambiance and vibes of the neighborhood but the food was just ok. If you like mildly spiced Indian food, then this is the place for you, but if you like spicy Indian food, then not the place!
Exceptional dining experience for small and large groups. This is my go to place to meet friends and family for authentic Indian food and great service.
Fantastic lunch buffet experience!
We went for the lunch buffet and everything exceeded expectations. The food was fresh, flavorful, and offered a great variety. The staff was polite and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely recommend for anyone craving authentic Indian food!
We've been going to Mantra India for years. We love the food. The service is very friendly as we do engage the staff with pleasantries as well. The value is good and you can always walk around on Castro street afterwards. Overall, a pleasant experience every time.
Had a very nice evening at Mantra. Drinks were good, my fav appetizer Avacado Jalmuri hit the spot. We tried a new bread , Achari Gobi which was simply delicious and paired well with Bhindi. Joy, our host remembered us from our prior visit. He was very professional, friendly and very polite. He was very happy to see us and insisted that we go back more often which made us feel very special. He and his team are very attentive and pay attention to their customers consistently. Would definitely go back and recommend Mantra to our friends and family
The food was terrible. There was nothing to eat if you are vegetarian. All curries were badly made. Horrible experience. We will never visit again. The rice was uncooked, the biryani had no taste and they charged us $25 per person for such bad food.
Restaurantji Recommends
very expensive buffet with high service charges included, not enough variety for vegetarian, too crouded, quality of food not good in the second serving, service not good as no dedicated server folks, not satisfied at all.
Food was tasty. Salad has too much dressing. Fruits should be replenished- there were mango and papayas initially but only melons left at the end.

The food was amazing in the buffet - right from starters to main course to desserts! Special mention to the pani puri because it’s been ages since I had good pani puri here in the US. Their Beg biriyani was outstanding and so was their garlic naan. Shoutout to Prem Reddy for his amazing service and hospitality. Highly highly recommend this place for a wholesome lunch buffet.
