First of all, 99% of the menu is Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian dishes, not Israeli. If you do not believe me, a quick Google search will suffice. Even better, I urge you to visit another Middle Eastern restaurant and order the same items — you will see how much better they taste and how much more generous the portions are.
The labneh was the only thing I enjoyed, and that is not difficult to get right, especially since they probably did not make it from scratch. The muhammara was disappointing, the baba ghanoush was disappointing, and even the fried cauliflower — which is almost impossible to get wrong — was subpar.
The portions were small, and the dishes were served in ways this cuisine was never meant to be presented. How this place received such a high rating is beyond me. I will update this review with recommendations for better places once I have tried more restaurants in the Bay Area.
Updated since owner responded: you can make and citations of pizza but guess what? Pizza is still Italian. You can make different visitation of sushi, but guess what sushi is still Japanese. So go ahead and make Lebanese, Palestinian food, but don’t call it Israeli cause it is just NOT

Wonderful Sunday lunch last week. The fried cauliflower florets starter was great. Nicely fried, not greasy with a good thick pesto labane sauce. We loved the muhamarra with the fried pita strips. Had some the next day and it was still fantastic. The chicken pita sandwich was good. My chickpea salad was tasty, but I wasn’t expecting the chickpeas to be so firm. The chocolate babka was great, not too sweet. The staff was attentive and the service was prompt. Nice atmosphere too, casual and welcoming.

I have to change my review to decrease the food rating unfortunately. They recently changed the recipe of the gluten free pita and it's much more dry and doesn't taste right.I used to get it all the time but now it has rice and I have an allergy to rice as well. I was disappointed to taste the dryness, but also not be alerted that they had changed the ingredients on their recipe. More transparency on ingredients would be great to know what is safe to eat or not because not all employees know the ingredients or will say if it changed.
Thank you

Amazing Service at Oren’s Hummus – Mountain View
I had such a wonderful experience at Oren’s Hummus in Mountain View, thanks to the outstanding service from Yuree, Chris, and Eugenia. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel genuinely welcomed.
Yuree was attentive and warm, making sure every detail of my order was perfect.

There was no salt in the hummus. The salad (I think it was tabbouli) had no salt either. The person who took our order brought all whole wheat pitas when some of us had ordered plain white pita breads.

Honey, I was so excited to try this place but what a disappointment. The hummus was absolutely tragic - tasted like it came straight from a grocery store container with zero flavor or freshness. Not the creamy dreamy Mediterranean experience I was hoping for at all.
The pita bread was drier than my sense of humor after a long day. Literally crumbled in my hands before I could even dip it. And for the prices they’re charging? Baby, no.
The service was fine I guess but when the food is this basic there’s really nothing that can save the experience. There are so many better Middle Eastern spots in this city that actually know how to make proper hummus.
Save your coins darling and go literally anywhere else.

At the recommendation of a family member, we stopped here for a late lunch on a Monday. To our surprise, kids eat free with the purchase of an $18 adult meal on Monday's. Food was fantastic! They did mess up my son's order and gave him rice instead of French fries. They were quick to fix it. We would definitely eat here more often if we were local.
