This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Palo Alto/Mountain View area. The food is delicious and well priced. Shrimp dishes are my favorite, especially the tacos and quesadillas. Also try the pupusas. Everything is fresh and well prepared. Goes well with margaritas from O’Malley’s. The ambience is a bar, so not kid friendly but you can always do take out.
Paper Platez, inside O’Malley’s Sports Pub is such a hidden gem. The tacos are packed with flavor and taste super fresh, way beyond what you’d expect from a pub spot. The portions are generous, the tortillas are soft and warm, and every bite feels like it was made with care. My favorite Mexican restaurant La Bamba survived the pandemic and transformed into Paper Platez. My most favorite dish is quesadilla with carnitas. The pork is crispy and flavorful. Birria is pretty good as well. The food here is affordable and very filling. One of, if not the best Mexican food place in the South Bay.
