Great poke with gluten free options
A little poke takeout place inside Ava’s market. They have a couple of tables inside the market and a few tables outdoors on Castro Street. The food was good, with lots of choices for toppings and sauces, but there was a lot of rice while the protein serving size is quite small compared to other poke places. We ordered an extra scoop of salmon and it still did not seemed enough. The shoyu sauce tasted a bit too salty but lacked flavor. Staff were quite friendly and patient to the orders, though.

Ordered a O.G. poke bowl for lunch. The preparation was quick. Generous portion, however too much rice and not enough toppings, felt like I didn’t get the money’s worth. Flavour was good though.

Best poke spot in town! A bit hard to locate at first and no parking near by. But the quality, taste and quantity I feel is unmatched.

The most flavorless poke I ever had in my life. From the rice to the salmon, not even a memory of a flavor. Ordered a large poke with ponzu, unagi and shoyu, unfortunately my bowl had not even a hint of those flavors.

Parking: Park in the parking garage right behind the store. There's a little alley connecting the garage to Castro street. The parking garage has a small area for short term parking near CVS which is ideal.

I am a regular here and normally get Poke at least once a week and have been doing so for about 3 years at least. However, over the past few months, I continuously got the impression that there was a significant drop in freshness and quality. Today was the last straw and I unfortunately am unlikely to return and i caution folks if you don't want to risk falling sick.1. Questionable freshness of the seafood. I went for a simple Salmon / Tuna combination that I always do and it tasted more fishy (stale) than usual. I stopped after a couple of bites as I was worried from a health and hygiene perspective.2. Shortage of veggies : For someone picking up lunch at 12:15. They were out of onions, jalapeneos, wasabi and fresh ginger. The person serving gave me a random shrug when I asked if they have some in the fridge, i did not mind waiting. For a venue that charges a premium, this is unacceptable3. Reduction in portion sizes - the medium bowl used to have more rice and better scoops of seafood. Both have reduced in quantity.Overall, this place used to be amazing. It's taking a turn for the worse and Im sad to see this as it's been my regular staple for years.

They have great poke and the people working there are very friendly so I go there from time to time. Unfortunately today I found a long hair in my food. Pretty gross ?.Whatever happened there with their hygiene protocol, I hope they will fix it soon.

This place has gone severely downhill. Avoid!
It is inside the store. Can eat outside. Delicious poke.
