I am a regular here and normally get Poke at least once a week and have been doing so for about 3 years at least. However, over the past few months, I continuously got the impression that there was a significant drop in freshness and quality. Today was the last straw and I unfortunately am unlikely to return and i caution folks if you don't want to risk falling sick.1. Questionable freshness of the seafood. I went for a simple Salmon / Tuna combination that I always do and it tasted more fishy (stale) than usual. I stopped after a couple of bites as I was worried from a health and hygiene perspective.2. Shortage of veggies : For someone picking up lunch at 12:15. They were out of onions, jalapeneos, wasabi and fresh ginger. The person serving gave me a random shrug when I asked if they have some in the fridge, i did not mind waiting. For a venue that charges a premium, this is unacceptable3. Reduction in portion sizes - the medium bowl used to have more rice and better scoops of seafood. Both have reduced in quantity.Overall, this place used to be amazing. It's taking a turn for the worse and Im sad to see this as it's been my regular staple for years.

They have great poke and the people working there are very friendly so I go there from time to time. Unfortunately today I found a long hair in my food. Pretty gross ?.Whatever happened there with their hygiene protocol, I hope they will fix it soon.

Though the food was good... the hygiene and cleanliness standards are not well maintained. My family contracted a Campylobacter infection after eating here.

Large portions, solid service, but a miss for me. There's a few tables outside to eat at, but no indoor seating. Grabbed two bowls, a small and a large. I don't like being a contrarian when others seem to really like this place, but the ingredients didn't seem that fresh when I visited. While the poke bowls were packed to the brim, this was the first time I didn't want to finish my poke bowl, like ever. I love that this spot is well-loved but something about the taste/mix of the poke just wasn't good for me.Maybe I'll come back another time to give Poke Bar another go!

endora!

Perhaps it was an off day for this stand but the bowl and service was pretty bad. One of the worst selection and bowls I’ve eaten.

Got introduced to a poke bar by my daughter in LA. Love love love their bowls. It's become my go to place to eat something clean with a lot of protein.

The spicy poke bowl is fantastic. Fresh ingredients, cold adult beverages! A+

A decent value for a lot of food. Asking for everything on top of the fish actually works; all the ingredients work together.Parking: Use the parking garage in Bryant, then cut through the alleyway straight to Ava's market. The poke bar is inside Ava's.

I had a great time at Pokebar with foodie friends! I got the large custom bowl which lets you customize the base, protein, mix in, sauce, sides, and toppings! The portion sizes were large as well and the food tasted fresh. They also mix it for you at the end. There is also outdoor seating on Castro Street with nice vibes~ Service was also friendly!I also created a video on Instagram and TikTok (@colorful.eats)~ instagram.com/reel/CsSZH…tiktok.com/t/ZTRKnxnwd

I got a small bowl and it was plenty for lunch, I felt very satisfied. Super fresh ingredients. The raw salmon melted in my mouth. I never had raw octopus, I tried it and the texture wasn’t my favorite. The kale noodles were really unique, they had a nice chew and flavor to them. I asked for a sweet and salty sauce and the worker mixed too sauces for me and it tasted very good. He was really nice. $20 all together with a drink. You choose your base which can be up two things, up to two proteins and as many toppings as you like. It’s a takeout counter within a grocery store and there are tables outside.

Has quality gone down or just new person need more training? I ordered three bowls and all were soaked in sauce. Fish doesn’t taste as fresh as used to be. What happened?! Very disappointed.

Got some takeout from here. Got 2 medium bowls. 3 scoops with white rice. The portions were huge, probably would've been fine with a small honestly! One complaint is that there just wasnt enough sauce. I wish they had tossed the fish in a bit more sauce, or if there was an option to add more sauce on the side. I just added some more kewpie sriracha mayo and soy sauce at home. Overall good for the price!

Great quality for the price and quantity they give!! I wasn't expecting such a huge bowl of fish and toppings but this could definitely be two whole meals worth of food. I love that some toppings that normally cost extra (seaweed salad and crab) comes with any bowl, and they are pretty generous loading up on toppings. The flavors sometimes get pretty salty, so I would try to balance the fish out with the sauce you pick, especially since the sauces are a hit or miss. It was in a small grocery store in Mountain View, so it's a little bit difficult to find, but once you know the spot, it's so easy to keep coming back. Because of this though, it's a bit hard to find accessible seating, so I had to walk pretty far to sit down and eat. Overall great spot, I always feel so healthy after getting poke, so this will become my new go-to quick lunch!

I love the staff here! They are always friendly and helpful, and they really make you feel welcome.Their poke isn't as authentic as it should be—it's more like a California-style take on Hawaiian poke. That being said, I do think they do a good job of providing healthier options. I mean, they serve salmon! They can do a better job providing more variety on vegetables.Their food is fast and fresh, so it's perfect for lunch or a quick dinner on your way home from work. It's also great if you're in a rush because there's no wait time whatsoever—you can get in and out in about 5 minutes.
