Great ramen, with the restaurant happy to customize (I like veggie broth even with meat for protein). You'll also be welcomed with a cheerful "irasshaimase!", a quaint little tradition of this place.

One of the best ramen broths and eggs with perfect jelly yolk. Pricey for the portion size on the small thinly sliced chashu pork and having to pay extra to add mushrooms and other ingredients like corn. Very fast service. Small dining space but the nice lay out didn't bake the place feel crowded.

The best part of the ramen was the broth. It was creamy and noticeably different than other ramen restaurants. It had more garlic flavor. Smooth texture but was not oily. One of the best ramen broths I've had that I wanted to drink it. Couldn't give it 5 stars because of the chashu pork and the value. There were 2 small thin chashu pork slices. They were thin enough that I first thought there was only one until I picked it up and the slices separated. The chashu didn't have much taste and was less tender than most other places I've tried. Their basic tonkatsu had a slice of seaweed and a whole egg for $16. Other ingredients are considered add ons for extra charge, so it can get pretty pricey, if you want mushrooms and corn added. The tonkotsu deluxe had both the chashu and pork belly as proteins. The pork belly, aka kakuni, was better than the chashu. It had more flavor and it was more tender. I appreciate that they give a whole egg. The egg was perfectly cooked with the jelly yolk having a slight sweet flavor, which was a nice surprise. One of the better ramen eggs I've had. The noodles had a good chewy texture. Service was pretty quick. Food came out 5 minutes after we ordered. They were also quick to collect the payment; didn't have to flag anyone down to get the bill. Small dining area but nicely laid out as it didn't feel cramped.

The veg ramen is so good. I visit atleast once a month. Being a vegetarian its hard to find good ramen places but this is hands down the best veg ramen place in the Bay! My friend is a non vegetarian, they like the veg one better.

Mixed review... Their ramen is fairly authentic. Not the kind I like. But one of the Japanese people in our party thought it was pretty good and another Japanese person in our group who had eaten here before also thought it was good. maybe 4 stars for ramen quality. But 3 stars when factoring in price. The curry is "OK." Japanese curry is notoriously sub-par for curries. I say this as someone who lived in Japan for 8 years and ate a lot of curry there (it's one of the cheapest options...and I'm cheap ;-) ). I make much better curry myself. But it's Thai style. And my wife was born in India and makes much better curry than this restaurant (Indian style). 3 stars for their curry, max. But here's where things take a turn... I follow a gluten-free diet. So I asked the waiter what my options were. I asked if I could have the chicken curry but with no breading on the chicken. He said No, because they are pre-made. Huh? The chicken may be deep-fried just prior to serving. But the breading process is not fresh. That's a bad sign. Hmm... So I asked what other options I had for gluten-free and he said "rice." Then he added that I could choose some of the add-on toppings for the ramen. Then, as I'm looking at the choices for toppings, I see that they offer a gluten-free noodle option! The waiter hadn't mentioned that. (down one star for service) I explained that I do not have Celiac so a little gluten in the broth would be acceptable. So I ordered the chicken ramen. The taste wasn't terrible. But it wasn't great, either. And the GF noodles were perhaps 50-60% of the volume of the regular noodles, for an additional price. And with the noodles was a few pieces of bean sprouts, a little piece of nori (seaweed) and 2 small slices of "chicken." The chicken seemed suspiciously like it could have come out of a plastic package from the grocery store's deli department, designed to go on a kid's sandwich. Gyoza was "OK." Edamame very good but hard to mess up those... And of course all of it was far more costly than would be considered reasonable anywhere but here in the heart of Silicon Valley. I think that some people would think this place is good to very good. But I saw much to be desired. And I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone following a gluten-free diet.

Came here on a chili Sunday evening and left absolutely satisfied. We didn't have to wait long for a table for two. I ordered the deluxe Ramen with a side of gyozas. You actually get a fair amount of Gyozas which is a nice change from some other Ramen spots. I don't know if it's possible to get your food faster unless you're ordering at a fast food restaurant it was awesome that the food came out so quickly and if someone who likes spicy food I really appreciate it that the spicy was actually spicy. If I'm ever in Mountain View again and it's a cold evening I'll probably swing by here.

Quick service on a quiet weekend afternoon, Ramen Izakaya had me feeling content with its delightful ramens. The setting was very quiet and calm, mixed with the cold afternoon was the perfect setting for this lunch. The Ramen was delightful and left me wanting for more. I can't wait to stop by again.
