I took my son to Sushi Jin for his 14th birthday as a birthday gift while my wife was out of town. We both got the Omikase, along with the uni flight and a dessert. The food was outstanding in every regard and the best sushi I have had (including Japan). My son loved it and enjoyed the experience (yes, he appreciates fancy food, as we cook with clean ingredients every night at home except on special occasions when we eat out). Everything was pretty good from atmosphere ,the food to interaction with the chef sitting at the bar. The only complaints I have is their wine or sake list is quite pricey and the Omakase last course which was a bowl of hot soup. I wish it was in a ceramic bowl instead of a plastic bowl. I would have given it five stars if they had completed the entire course with the right dishware. Eating out of plastic anything is such a turn off and a health hazard. I hope they would realize...
I ordered the omakase. It's quite good but the nigiri they included in the set was disappointing. When you have nigiri on the menu for a la carte order ranging from ~$8.5 per to ~$17 per, I would have expected the omakase to include some of the most expensive and high-end options such as uni, wagyu, amaebi ($17 per), o-toro ($14 per), etc. However, I got none of those and most of the nigiri included in the set was on the low-price end, e.g. saba (for $9 if I order the nigiri...
