The nigiri hamachi was excellent!! Not a tiny little sliver of a piece. But a nice portion that melted in your mouth. The map of Sake and where it's from was a nice addition to what and where it's from. Went with a work group and everythingbwqs delicious not one of us was disappointed.

I really like this small sushi joint. Have been here many times. I was a bit nervous before my first visit given some of the complaints online about the fish not being fresh, but I generally have had no such problem, maybe because I usually only order raw items off the list labeled “Fresh!” on the whiteboard. The shima aji, tai, uni, black cod, ocean trout, toro, and kanpachi have been consistently excellent. (If splurging, I recommend the uni over the toro. The toro is buttery and subtle but at $18 per order is not as good a deal as the uni, which is only $15 and in my opinion tastes better.) The unagi, hirame, and kappa maki have also been good. The aji (horse mackerel) was slightly fishy as God intended. I once ordered the hamachi by accident even though it was not on the “Fresh” list and found it to be a bit fishy so it’s important to order off the whiteboard. The only item off the whiteboard I have not liked so much was the anago, which was not broiled and a bit fishy (large pieces though). I found the seaweed salad a bit sweet. Green tea went well with the meal. The servers are generally nice and professional although sometimes they can make you feel rushed. I generally like the guys making the sushi as well. They can be more engaged and communicative than typical sushi makers.

Delicious and fresh sushi! That’s all we had, but you can have a menu with different japanese dishes. They also have a daily menu. And everything for a good price :) Will go back there definitely!

My first time here but wow, each slice of sashimi was a thick cut. One of the few places that serves uni. Highly recommend the chirashi bowl. Sushi rice was perfectly sticky and the offerings of fish in the regular was plenty for me.

There are two menus: the nigiri and rolls menu which you order on paper and then the other more entree and combo meal items on the more sturdy menu.

Arrived at 6 or so and wait was relatively short- mainly had to wait for our party to fully arrive. But when we left at 7:30 or so, there was a crazy line out the door.

This was a deeply disappointing Japanese restaurant. Perhaps it was because we visited on a weekend and the place was crowded, but every dish our group ordered had some sort of issue. One person found hair in their rice, another had spoiled chicken in their oyakodon, and the tonkatsu was unbearably salty. The sashimi side dish, made from trimmings, tasted off—almost as if something that shouldn’t be there had gotten mixed in.

The environment inside was extremely noisy, making it nearly impossible to hold a proper conversation. The service was confusing as well—our server had difficulty communicating in English, and we weren’t given any water cups throughout the meal. No one came to ask if we needed water, even after we finished the tea we had to pay extra for.

As the meal went on, our disappointment grew. We left a small, symbolic tip out of courtesy, only to be met with a strange look from the staff. This experience was truly disheartening, and it’s hard to imagine coming back.

Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in all of South Bay for casual nigiri and sushi rolls. All of the sashimi are so consistently fresh and high quality. The salmon pieces are so thick and amazing. The uni was so flavorful and tasted like the ocean (in a good way). Everything was super great value for the price too!

My fiance and I came at 5:30pm on a Friday and were able to get a table immediately, we barely beat the dinner rush because by the time we finished ordering, the storefront started getting crowded with people waiting for a spot.

The service is okay, friendly but not super attentive. Our server essentially only came by for us to order and then drop off the check at the end. But she did give really good menu suggestions.
