Service was good. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I definitely recommend the Mentai Cream Sauce udon and Yaki Onigiri. A lot of other things look great too.
Had a fantastic lunch at Udon Mugizo in downtown Mountain View—a true spot for authentic Japanese noodles. I had the Tonkotsu Udon with a rich, creamy pork broth full of deep umami flavor classic kotteri style. The Nabeyaki Udon arrived bubbling in a clay pot with crisp tempura, a poached egg, and perfectly chewy noodles with great koshi. We started with Gyoza tempura crispy outside, juicy inside, and full of flavor. Felt like a meal straight out of a Tokyo noodle bar. Highly recommend for udon lovers.

Good food. We enjoyed the ramen here.
The Tonkotsu Udon with Shrimp Tempura was delicious—rich broth, chewy noodles, and crispy shrimp. Matcha ice cream was delayed, so they kindly voided the entire bill. Ended up with amazing free food and great service. Definitely coming back!
I have been to this place many times. However both me and my daughter got food poisoning this weekend after eating mentai cream udon. I have been to this restaurant many times in the past and not had this issue. But this does seem to be a recurrent theme in the last 6-8 months when I read the other reviews and I think the owners need to take this issue seriously.

udon review:
i got the tonkotsu udon. the noodles and the broth were good. though the pork was somewhat dry. also had the tempura which was good. overall 7.8/10
Food is good. But the owner almost never turn on the air conditioner and it was hot as hell every single time. Maybe they want to sell more drinks this way

Ordered their Mentai cream sauce udon. Recommended a medium size or else it would be too heavy and creamy. The udon is really chewy and delicious. Would like to try some other dishes next time.

Lemme put y’all on: this place is mine and my boyfriend’s spot. I don’t live local, but I tend to crave this place as if I were 8 months pregnant (not pregnant) and with the force of a thousand waterfalls. Four words: mentai cream sauce udon. The rich, sinful cream sauce will almost have you creaming your pants. From the carefully grated Parmesan to the gentle dollop of cod roe—don’t even get me started on the thick, perfect noodles. After one bite, you’ll never be the same again. When I first arrived at this wonderful, quaint destination, I was a mere mortal girl, but I left something more... something whole... a woman.

Had their tempura udon on Saturday and got serious food poisoning. Was my only meal of the day and it led to a horrible night. Their tempura did not taste fresh. Never going back
