Nice looking restaurant with good service. Makes it a pleasant evening but the food just fell short. I appreciate the fresh made pasta but the sauce was underwhelming. We got the fettuccine with pesto and bucatini with pork ragu. Flavors just weren't there. Other dishes: garlic fries - not very crispy, fried calamari- also not very crispy, branzino - tasted a bit fishy, margarita pizza and San Loren pizza - not very tasty, lacking cheese and flavor. Not very many people despite being a sat evening.

Excellent Service. Great Salmon. Spacing within restaurant perfect. The front window area opens to outside seating as well. Much bigger restaurant than it appears from outside.

Good wine selection but could be broader. Branzino was nicely cooked and very fresh! Broccolini side was old, charred, and stringy. It was really loud so difficult to talk. Overall an ok experience.

Went here on a Sunday evening. It was relatively dead inside. Service was pretty slow in terms of servers coming by. We had to search around for them just to get water and put our orders. Aside that they were nice and friendly. Food was ok. I dont see how they are any different from Doppio. Seems like alot of items carry through. Portions were at least decently sized. Ravioli was on the heavy side with the truffle fondue. Would definitely better if they use a sauce less rich, Squid ink pasta - pretty good flavor, pasta could have used a lil stronger taste of the squid ink. The seafood in it was good. Pizzas - Not sure what the style of pizza is here but crust is rather thick and sauce a lil too acidic for my liking. Calamari appetizer - nicely fried and zuchini stripes went well. Croquettes - Good dish but could have used more seasoning. Broccolini - portion was very small but it was a good vege dish for table. Arugula salad - Not enough dressing and the pears/apples in it were browning.

Just amazing!! Best Italian we have had in a long time.. Food was great, took us to flavor town. The staff were friendly. Definitely will be back when we are in the area. Highly recommend it.

The DJ played the music too loud. Food was lacking in flavor. Everything needed seasoning. Parking is a nightmare. Happy hour prices and service were wonderful.

This was at least my 4th time here since they opened. I have not been disappointed yet. All the servers have been great and the food is delicious!

We were there to celebrate a birthday the hostess acknowledged it while seating us but took know further actions. The desert we ordered were plated with missing pieces. I felt disgusted to have reserved at your restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Never coming back.

Very much enjoyed the space. Staff were attentive and knew when to approach and gave enough time for us to order and enjoy our food without making us feel rushed at all. It's a great place for a date night and delicious food.

The food was ok, nothing spectacular. The portions are small. I ordered the ragu pasta which was recommended by our waiter as a popular dish and it was not great at all. It was not well seasoned. And it had bunch of pieces of fat with little or no meat on them.

Ambience and vibe on a Tuesday night was great! Didn't actually need a reservation but was nice to have. The staff was amazing and friendly and checked in on us regularly without feeling overbearing. Food was good but truthfully not 5/5. I really enjoyed the squid ink pasta as it had a slight spicy kick I wasn't expecting. But the calamari, prosciutto and burrata, and saffron risotto were only ok. Overall a good dining experience but not in any rush to return.

Sat at the bar and had a great evening. Enjoyed our appetizer/ pizza dinner, loved the cocktails, and our bartender was so friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

Great addition to the Castro street food scene destined to be a great neighborhood favorite. Appetizer Misto frito entrees Squid seafood pasta n grandma lasagna are highly recommended. Great service from attentive waiters.

Given how much we've enjoyed Johnny & Sanny's sister restaurant, Doppio Zero, over the years, it was a disappointing experience overall at Johnny & Sanny's. We had a party of ten and ordered plenty of appetizers and a variety of entrees, none of which were especially tasty. Many of the entrees were swimming in oil. The frito misto was mostly fried zucchini. The tomatoes in the caprese salad were cold and flavorless. The waitstaff was not particularly attentive and when the bill came, our waitress took pains to explain that despite the 20% tip that was already included, we could add an extra amount. No thanks.

Great looking restaurant. Lots of space for event, large bar area and nice outdoor area. We chose to sit inside and had a nice table. Our only criticism is the bar tender doubled as our waiter so he was busy with drink orders. There seemed to be plenty of staff so we were puzzled that there wasn't a waitperson for the inside dining room. The food was good. The lemoncello cake was awesome. I'll give it another try.
