This place is the worst in food, I do not recommend it, if they ask me for a rating I will give them less (0000) we ordered two dishes with my wife, and the food was poorly prepared, and the worst thing is that it poisoned me, I called them and they told me , and they answer rudely, rather you go out and owe them, and I think that is not right.

Came here with my girls for happy hour one day and I was actually quite surprised by the quality despite it being on the HH menu! We pretty much ordered everything from the HH selection. We started off with some cocktails which were super refreshing. We got 2 orders of pan con tomate, papas bravas, croquetas de jamon, pintxos morunos, and hamburgers which fed 10 people. If you're coming here for good vibes with a group of people, I would definitely recommend coming during happy hour when it's a little more affordable!

Went there the last weekend for dinner. Ordered a few tapas dishes, 1 salad and 1 main and they were tasty but had to take 1 star off every rating as there is a definite room for improvement although I see the restaurant as having potential to achieve a 5 stars rating if they try.Took 1 star off the food rating as all the tapas were lukewarm which really compromised the taste. 1 star off on service as the “designated” server had more talk than actions as she would come around and comment on the food vs providing actual service. I asked for hot water and instead she poured cold water and completely showed no recollection of my request even though she had acknowledged it when I 1st made the request. Instead she would come around to give us her “assessment” of our choices as being “good”. I had to ask another server for the hot water which was promptly served. And our server besides talking did not do anything else that her colleagues did. Another server took the initiative to combine the table next to us together with ours when he saw that there was barely any space left for all our foods/plates. We had 7 plates being squeezed into 1 table for 2 persons. So the 4 stars are truly for the other 2 servers and not our server as she provided almost no actual service whatsoever. Took 1 star off atmosphere as it is just the norm, nothing to shout home about and my napkin on the table was either stained/dirty as it is a black fabric with some white marks on it when I opened to use it.The food tasted good enough but not great and I don’t think I will return since I don’t really care to have a lukewarm meal. I would much rather eat my food piping hot especially if I’m in a restaurant.

We entered a stylish, somewhat sexy, dining room at 6:30 on a Tuesday night. The place was about half full and the noise level was uncomfortably loud. We asked the waiter for our tapas meal to be slow-paced, and he assured us that this was no problem. The kitchen, evidently had a different vision of “slow paced” because the dishes started piling up on our table, creating an uncomfortable, rushed dining experience. Like most Spanish tapas menus, there were few vegetable dishes. I think that many Californians want some vegetables and may I suggest that adding gazpacho to the menu would be a welcome addition. Everything we ate was really good, but the whole dining experience wasn't exceptional. A few tweaks to noise, pacing, and menu could turn this restaurant into one of our regular places.

Excellent restaurant for a party of 6. We love trying new food, tapas are a perfect way to do this. The restaurant wasn't too busy, so the noise level was fine. The staff is very helpful. Beautiful place with excellent food. Thank you everyone at Vida!

Yumm I love Spanish tapas. I stopped by here on a weekday night with two of my girlfriends to catch up. It was a chilly night out so we sat inside, but liked that we could see the open outside patio from where we were sitting. The bar area was gorgeous too. The attention to detail with the decor amazed me, I loved the gold touches in the front bar area, and the classy boho theme with greenery and wooden accents in the other parts of the restaurant. Our server was great and gave us his recommendations on what foods to get, they did not disappoint! We got the potatoes, croquettes, octopus, lamb chops, mushrooms, eggplant to share, with churros as dessert. potatoes/papas bravas: these came out crispy with a soft inside, the brava sauce was yummy, with crema and touch of spice. tasted a bit like buffalo sauce. It was a good filler appetizer to share. croquettes/croquetas de jamon: one of my favorites! It came in a set of four. the béchamel sauce was deliciously creamy and melted in my mouth. savory with a touch of sweetness. Nice crunchy exterior as well. octopus/pulpo gallego: grilled nicely, had a nice chew. Came on top of pureed mash potato. Great to share and eat, but something to skip if youve had it before! lamb chops/chuletas de cordero: another one I really enjoyed. the lamb chops came out a little smokey and the labneh complimented the flavors well. I wish these were a bigger though! the lamb chop had enough meat for two small bites or one big bite. mushrooms/champinones silvestres: these were soo good, the egg yolk made a difference with texture, mushrooms were in bite sized pieces and was great with the grilled sourdough eggplant/berenjena: It came out hot, so we had to wait to eat after we cut it. Since it was tempura, it had was slightly crispy exterior. The soy glaze was good with it. It came out in 3 big patties. Texture wise, it was a lot of mush. It would have been better if they had cut the eggplant into smaller pieces and fried it then. The soy glaze would have been picked up more and the flavoring would not have been so one dimensional. pass on this, more a filler vegetable if youre looking to get full. churros/churros con chocolate: these are Spanish churros and came out crispy and soft! I loved the chocolate sauce it came with. perfect small dessert to share. my friends got beer and for myself I got a cocktail. I dont remember the name, but it was good -- not too sweet and nice to sip on. Would definitely come here again if I am in the area!

Food was okay with some dishes better than others. Portions were small, especially paella which is meant to be shared and cost $40. We had 3 birthdays at the table, which I indicated on the reservation, and it would have been nice if they acknowledged it and comped a couple drinks or a dessert.

I went here over the weekend for dinner with a friend. This place has been in my bookmarks for awhile and decided to come here since I love Catalan spanish tapas. I've already visited La Catalana, Teleferic Barcelona, Iberia and so, why not? The ambiance and vibe was very hip/modern. However, what struck me was the food served. We ordered the Gambas Al Ajillo, Berenjena Croquetas De Jamón and Champiñones Silvestres. I really wanted to like this place but the food was a miss except for the Croquetas de Jamon which were solid. I feel like the berenjena has no business being tempura fried; by the time it arrived at our table - it was cold so the tempura fry was stale by the time we dug in. As far as the gambas al ajillo goes, this was a major letdown. We both noticed that the shrimps tasted mushy as if the cooking staff didn't let it thaw out completely. The shrimps were not fresh otherwise it would have had some bite to it. As for the champinones silvestres, I wasn't sure why they'd use enoki mushrooms but they're usually made with cremini or button . The cured egg yolk was slightly off for me. Would I return? Possibly for drinks. Or maybe order something else on the menu for a second opinion.

Mediocre food compared to other tapas around. Feels we overpaid for average food. Cocktails were good. Ambience is good and great location

Came here for dinner with friends and had a great time. It is tucked further away at the end of Castro, nearer to the Caltrain. It was pretty quiet on a Thur night even though other restaurants were pretty bustling. Food here is delicious. I really enjoyed the meatballs, the octopus and the jamon iberico plate. The basque cheese cake was excellent as well.

You won't be disappointed when you are dining out at this beautiful modern design restaurant. Feel like coming to the restaurant in Spain. Wonderful gentleman, Alejandro is very friendly and knowledgeable about cocktails and wine selection. My husband and I enjoyed all tapas and customer service was excellent!! I first came to this restaurant when they were just open for the business. I am so excited to see that this place added many new tapas on their menu and all dishes we ordered are delicious with unique flavors (Me Gusta mucho:). Cheers!
