While being a small restaurant (it's pretty much a kitchen only with outdoor seatings), the food is absolutely delicious! Arguably the best chicken Tikka masala I have had in San Jose. I have brought some of my friends here and even they had nothing but great reviews for this place.
Update: I can strongly say that the chicken tikka masala, chicken boti sizzler, and mango lassi at Zareen's are god-tier. I have taken many people (both Indians and non-Indians) and so far, I dont think I have met anyone yet who disagrees with me on this. It's soo good that one of my friends, who wasn't a fan of Indian food, got converted and loved Zareen's. I cant stress this enough, you need to go eat at this place when you get a chance.

This is a great and popular Indo-Pak takeout only place. I got the weekend special (beef nihari) with naan. I preordered from the website in the morning a couple hours before it opened at 11 am since it sells out fast. It was hearty and full of flavor. All of their dishes are like that!

The food here is not as good as the Palo Alto location. It’s a takeaway place but there’s a few chairs outside. We ate on site. Boti chicken sizzler was ok. Aloo Tikki thali was ok. Naan was terrible. Hard, chewy, tasted like cardboard. Skip this location and go to Palo Alto
Great Pakistani food! No dine-in, though (they would need a much larger room for dine-in given the usual crowd!). Expect hot and spicy food!

We were quite disappointed. We have not been to Zareen's for some time. We know they enjoy a great reputation. So, perhaps, our expectations were set too high. We were 3 people ordering vegetarian food. The paneer in the paneer tikka masala came straight out of Nanak Paneer from Costco! It was old and chewy and hardly a paneer that anyone that includes paneer in their cuisine would use, let alone a highly reputed restaurant and chef such as Zareen's. The dal and rice were good. The Naan was undercooked and not very good. The chai was too sweet. The prices were reasonable. It is pretty much a self serve place. Although you provide your phone number when you place your order on the machine (like the airport check in machines), they do not text you that your food is ready. The person working there just comes to the door and hollers your name. Why then take my phone number? Perhaps their sit down restaurants in palo alto and redwood city are better. This Mountain View place was no good.

This was a small take out spot . We found some seating outside . I heard a lot of good reviews about this place from word of mouth. So I was were excited to try ! Ordered palak paneer , samosas , biryani and chicken tikka masala . I think everything was mediocre but the samosas were bomb ! I would not order the palak paneer again . The chicken tikka masala was decent and biryani okay . Service was good and food didn’t take that long to come out though . I don’t recommend the thali .
