Firewood is a casual, reasonably priced restaurant in Murphys that has been a local favorite for years. The pizza is what they do best, but the tacos are awesome, and the burgers are very fresh and tasty. The restaurant also caters to dietary restrictions, providing gluten-free buns for burgers. Food is always delicious, and it comes out fast with helpful staff. You walk up, order, and find a place to sit—depending on the weekend, it can be packed or not. The atmosphere is comfortable with dim lighting, and the second floor is nice and warm on a cold day, though the first floor has more space. While service can be slow during peak hours, highlights include the pizza, chicken tenders cooked perfect, and very good fries.
