We stopped into Hovey Winery for our second tasting of the day, so we were already feeling a little tipsy, but the experience was absolutely fantastic! The employee who helped us was wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Every wine we tried was great, balanced, and flavorful. A perfect stop if you’re looking for a welcoming vibe and consistently delicious wines! Oh and their candles smelled great.

This winery is amazing. I am a wine club member and Hovey has the best wine in town. The outdoor setting is also amazing. You can sit in the grass area and enjoy the beauty of Murphys! And the friendly service tops it all off! If you come to Murphys, make sure you stop by Hovey; the wine, setting and service is top notch!

Irish festival- I was sitting at a table and a man brought me a menu over while I was eating. He asked me if he could get me anything and I told him my husband was getting us beer. He said we don’t serve that but you can still sit here and eat. I said well he’ll figure it out. A few minutes passed and he came back and grabbed the menu and my food and escorted me to a different area that was apparently for Pour, the Tap Room only. I told him that it was inappropriate for him to touch my food and he could’ve asked politely to move to the other area. Moments later, a young blonde employee approached asking me where I was from and then stated she hopes that I never return to Murphy’s. Well I frequent Murphy’s often since we own a cabin in Arnold. I can assure you, I’d never give this establishment my business. They have a nice area but the employees have zero tact and are incredibly RUDE!!! I’ve worked in the food and wine industries. I’m perfectly aware that this is uncalled for an all accounts. You don’t talk to people in this manner. Disgusting.

We visit Murphys a couple times a year. It's a lovely little town and there's a Sequoia forest nearby. Every time we come, we make sure to go to Hovey winery. Their wine is top quality and we always feel welcomed by their lovely staff. ❤️❤️❤️

Hovey is the best! I started coming here a few years ago when I moved to California and the staff here have always been incredibly kind and made me, my family and my friends feel welcome. Not to mention that the wine is delicious and the lawn can’t be beat. One of the most tranquil spots to grab a drink in Murphys - I’d highly recommend to any visitor.

Very poor service and mediocre wine! We visit Murphy’s about three times a year. We typically go wine tasting, shopping, visit Murphy’s Pour house, and just have a great time with friends and family. We stay at a family cabin in Arnold and go to Murphy’s for the great food, wine, and customer service. This time was different. We were having an awesome time with our son, and his friend who came to visit from Boise, Idaho for our son’s 30th birthday. The downfall was that we decided to go to Hovey Winery. We went to the Pour House to get a late lunch and sit on the Hovey side to drink some wine. Shortly after we sat down, we had a server come to our table prior to being served. We had just sat down. I believe the server’s name was Anna. She had seen that we purchased wine from some of the wineries we had already visited and told us that we could not be there if we were planning to open and drink the wine we had already purchased. Our full intention was to sit at Hovey and drink their wine, but the way she treated us was very rude and uncalled for. We still decided to buy one glass of wine and drink it while sitting there eating our lunch. I wasn’t impressed with the wine and was also disappointed with the way we were treated. We visit Murphy’s a few times a year, if not more, and will never visit Hovey again. We love supporting the businesses in Murphys and visiting the beautiful town. It is unfortunate that this winery doesn’t know how to treat customers.

We went here for our son’s 30th birthday. He posted reviews about his experience. He didn’t have a good experience. Instead of the management apologising and trying to remedy said experience, they took the opportunity to publicly disparage him about his feelings. We were there as well as a family friend. He calmly stated his feelings about the service as well as us his parents never once raising our voice or saying anything derogatory. The staff was pointing in our direction and laughing after coming to us and saying we couldn’t drink our closed bottle of wine we had purchased at another winery. We never had any intention of drinking the closed bottle, and every intention of purchasing wine. We purchased one glass after having a taste of the staff being rude and pretentious. It’s sad that the first recourse is to throw the customer under the bus instead of making it right. It’s also sad that you have a lot of reviews with people having the same experience. Maybe try some humility before lashing out against your paying customers.

I’ve been here several times over the years and somehow the service always misses. We were served by an elderly lady in a skirt, Anna, and she was so incredibly rude and demeaning and made it clear that she did not want to serve us. I even caught her talking poorly about us to another server. As someone who has worked in the industry for years; I would not recommend. It is my thirtieth birthday and I cant believe how she treated us.
