Big Island BBQ and Tea

Love the food here, as I've never had anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. But the last 4 times I've been here, the music has been so loud that the person taking my order couldn't even hear me, was on his phone (a personal call on speaker) and didn't take our order because he didn't know we wanted to order, and is currently playing Black Sabbath so loud that I'm eating my meal in my car. When I was here on Sunday, I asked to have the music turned down so I could have a conversation at my table, and it was back up to the extremely loud volume within a few minutes. I want to keep coming here for the amazing food, but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired.

We went for lunch after an appointment for the first time. We got a lot of food for what we paid. Food was delicious. We will definitely be back to try other items.

Me and my family had a wonderful experience eating here at Big Island the lady who took our order was super attentive and she was by herself customer service was her ultimate goal and she maximized our experience with every second she had. The food was great and the portion size is plenty for the money. I will definitely be returning.

I've been coming here for years to get the grilled salmon and rice. And they are giving less portions when it comes to the salmon. It looks like to me the pieces are thinner. I spend $18.40 on this plate and I'm not even full after I finish eating. But they put a whole bunch of veggies and rice but they definitely have cut back on the salmon. And I have noticed this over several times of purchasing this plate. One time I had to bring it back because it was like little pieces of salmon. They gave me nice size pieces but I think that this is what they're doing now is cutting the salmon in half and making it thinner. I would prefer restaurants leave the food alone and just raise the price more instead of giving less food. So I'm going to have to find me somewhere else to go to purchase salmon.

Received bones instead of BBQ beef. No meat at all! $40+ dollars for rice!

This restaurant is more of a take out kind of place. The atmosphere inside is too hot and uncomfortable but smells amazing. The service was somewhat average and didn’t go over the top to be accommodating as they were too busy to care. Could potentially use one more staff member to make patrons feel more valued. The food is very good and I would recommend the garlic shrimp if you’re going on a hot date afterwards. The scallops are nice and have a good crisp to the crust as they are fried. The fire chicken is not as hot as the name suggests but has good flavor nonetheless. We will definitely consider returning for a take out order as the portions are worth the price.

Got the curry katsu chicken and it was delicious! Perfectly crusted and the curry itself was very flavorful. The tropical fruit tea was very refreshing, perfect for a hot day and is full of fruits. Would definitely come back to try other menu items

The prices said 10.55 for meal on menu and was 14.95. I would make sure to update this, to keep the food at the front of us customers minds. Thank you

Although I decided to try the katsu at Big Island BBQ, a departure from my usual order, I was a bit disappointed with the flavor. While the meat appeared fresh and was properly cooked, it lacked the robust taste I typically enjoy. However, the rice served alongside was light and fluffy

Young man working up front, Believe his name is Robert and he has tattoos and piercings. He is an absolutely the most sweetest cashier i’ve ever met. He was so welcoming, and brought my food to the table to me and my friends when it was ready. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the customer service, and the music was perfect for the setting :) I will keep recommending this place to my friends and family as long as employees like robert are working here.

Got the chicken Katsu, nice an crispy. You can swap the rice for Vejis an you'll get some good steamed cabbage. Loved the macaroni too, the lady was really nice an helpful
