First of all, let me just say: Wow!

I was completely blown away from my experience here. I was very satisfied, and given that it was my first time ever visiting a Black Bear Diner, my expectations were blown away! Please, come along on this journey with me as I describe the Food, Service, and Atmosphere of this fine establishment.

Before I go into the three review categories, I must give my personal background and why this restaurant meant so much to me. As a single mom of 3 kids to a father that abandoned us, it can be very difficult to find a restaurant that can accept and provide service that doesn’t leave you feeling like an outlier or burden. Of course, my work life is very hard as I have to work two jobs just to make ends meet. My Nissan Altima has a plethora of issues as well, so that only makes money even more tight. Why did I explain this to you all? Because in today’s crippling economy and shrink-flation it can be very difficult to find a restaurant that is worth your buck! Well, this place is definitely worth your money! Enough about me! Let’s get into the reviews!

Food: Delicious! So delicious! I ordered two scrambled eggs, a Turkey ham slice, and cinnamon roll French toasts all for $20. And let me tell you, the portion given was very generous and made it well worth every penny! Everything was cooked, seasoned, and prepared to perfection. I hope someday to find a baby daddy who can cook like this! Let me just apologize in advance for being so dramatic lol! But the food I give a 5/5!

Service: My waitress was Daisy and she did a phenomenal job making us feel welcomed and providing excellent service. The name Daisy actually means “day’s eye” which symbolizes purity, freshness, and new beginnings. Why do I mention this lol? Because, through her service provided, she really made my experience at Black Bear Diner feel fresh and new. I feel like my visit here is the start of something new, with a very bright future ahead. Perhaps I might even find a baby daddy for my kids haha! I’m jk though, sorry I don’t mean to get all emotional and personal in my review. But the service was excellent, 5/5 stars any day of the week!

Atmosphere: Would it be dramatic to say that it felt like I was in a whole other time and place! I guess I’m a pretty dramatic person if you couldn’t tell already LOL! The cabin theme, the cute little black bears scattered everywhere, the pies, the wooden bar chairs (I might have to come back for a few drinks wink wink), the tiny gift shop, and of course the jukebox! It truly felt so warm, safe, and cozy inside the restaurant! Perhaps someday I can find a baby daddy for my kids who’d be willing to make us a cabin like this place. Sorry lol, I can be so dramatic. But anyways, the atmosphere I give a 5/5 once again!

Black Bear Diner has a nice rustic aesthetic. Comfy seating and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Daisy was very quick and kind, on top of everything! I ordered the chicken fried steak with hashbrowns and biscuits. It was more than filling! The steak was very tender and flavorful, the hash browns had great flavor and were crunchy outside and soft in the middle. I ordered my eggs over easy, they were perfect. Biscuits were very soft! Some of the best I've ever had. Gravy was very nice, ordered more just to smother. My meal was only $21! Definity will be back again!

Food was okay, but very expensive 46 dollars for two meals and coffee. No wonder the place was empty.

Stepping into Black Bear Diner feels like being whisked away to a cozy old-town vacation spot with rustic charm, warm hospitality, and hearty comfort food that hits the spot every time. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, making you feel like a welcome guest rather than just another customer.
What really stands out is the value, generous portions, great quality, and prices. Whether you're diving into a classic breakfast platter or a homestyle dinner, you get a lot of delicious food for your money, and it’s always satisfying.
If you're craving a place that delivers on both vibe and value, Black Bear Diner is the kind of spot that keeps you coming back.

Many say it is a upgraded IHOP. I like the vibe better than IHOP and you may find the service the same as most diners. Chicken fried steak is the thickest I ja e seen which makes it moist and delicious. The potatoes are soggy, so may want to opt for a different side. Fun news paper menu with fun reads if you haven't been before.
