Had an amazing experience at Angèle in downtown Napa. The location right along the river gives it such a relaxed, upscale vibe without feeling stuffy. The food was incredible; everything tasted fresh and well thought out, especially the steak frites and the seafood dishes. You can tell they really focus on simple ingredients done right, and the presentation matched the quality.

What really stood out was the atmosphere and service. Sitting outside by the water with a glass of wine made it feel like a true Napa experience, and the staff was friendly without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a nice dinner as it does for a laid-back evening after a day of wine tasting. Definitely one of those spots I’d come back to next time in Napa.

Expansive Gluten free options. My wife is celiac. Almost everything besides the pasta can be made gluten free. Even the fries used separate fryer. The vibe was fantastic and service is one of the best. One of the best french restaurants we’ve ever been to.

An honest reviewer

We booked well in advance and were still seated in “the shed,” an auxiliary structure next to the main restaurant. No mention of this when we reserved. The hostess was unwelcoming and had a noticeably poor attitude, setting a negative tone from the moment we arrived. At a restaurant that positions itself as upscale, you’d expect the hospitality to match the price point.
The food was good, I’ll give credit there. But a great meal is only part of the equation. We left feeling like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests.
Unfortunately, we won’t be back.

Angele Restaurant & Bar is a cornerstone of the Napa Valley dining scene. It’s a true French bistro that consistently executes at a high level—great energy, polished service, and food that’s classic, well-balanced, and reliably on point.

It’s also one of the best spots in town to people-watch; you’ll often see winemakers and industry locals, which says a lot about how trusted this place is. Everything runs with strong operational cadence—from pacing to hospitality—without feeling stuffy or overproduced.

Bottom line: a high-performing Napa staple and an easy repeat.

Amazing food, more than wonderful server (Madeline and her team) such a lovely smile and all were so thoughtful.
I can't recommend Angele enough. It's not a restaurant you hear about all the time, but that is the beauty of it. Locals know best, and the restaurant seems to be a favorite.

A favorite among locals and visitors wanting boughie experience. Since it was Restaurant month they had a lunch special for $38. It was a three course meal starting with tuna tartare, followed by gnocchi enriched with mushrooms. Dessert was house made coconut ice cream. All were quite filling.

My 3 girlfriends & I ate here last year, outside. We met again for lunch Wed. We wanted to sit outside (with heaters) because it is Quieter. Closed! Inside it was Impossible to have a conversation---so NOISY! We all got the prix fix menu. The salad dressing (preserved lemon) was Way too salty & bitter (none of us could finish it). The Pate in the sandwich was delicious but Skimpy! No brie, just a cut up cornishon The bread was Dry & Hard; we only ate the Pate. The homemade potato chips were Hard & tasteless (no salt, tasted 'old'). $240! no dessert or appetizer, 4 glasses of wine. Not conducive for conversation! We don't mind paying a hefty price for a meal as long as it is TASTY & memorable. Very disappointing on all counts~~~

This place is adorable and the food was great. A cute well priced restaurant. We ordered the escargot, lamb, and tagliatelle pasta and all were delicious. I would repeat this place because food and vibe were great and price point was good.
