From the first greeting to the final bite, service was impeccable. Though part of a resort, the dining experience far exceeded expectations; thoughtful, refined, and anything but typical hotel fare.
Ingredients were exceptionally fresh, the dishes felt inspired and intentional, and the cocktails were crafted with purpose (including a few delightful surprises, like their house-made beef broth?).
What truly set this place apart was the seamless communication among the staff; attentive, polished, and effortlessly professional without ever feeling intrusive. Everything flowed beautifully.
We’ve had a fair share of Michelin rated restaurants around the world (Kyoto, Rome, Rio, Singapore, NY, CA, Mexico City, Shanghai, etc) and the bear felt like we’re the most important people in the world. Just excellent service from start to finish.
If you’re in the area, consider this a must.

My first time coming here, and it was amazing. The ambiance is great. Although it can be loud and harder to talk on a busier night. The service is spot on. Pricing is reasonable. I will be coming back.
Recommend the lamb ribs, very tasty. The sourdough ice cream is also balanced 😋

Phenomenal — this restaurant is a 100/10. The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. Sophia was very helpful, and our server, Yalitza, was incredible. Try the carrots—you won’t regret it

Best restaurant I’ve been this year….compared to Michelin starred places in France, Italy and us.
Go for dinner, eat whatever the chef suggests. I promise it won’t disappoint. THIS RESTAURANT DESERVES A MICHELIN STAR. Absolutely amazing
A must go to place!
Few months ago I had breakfast there and it was delicious, good service and nice ambiance. Tonight we had the pleasure of dinning at Bear with friend & family.
Superb hospitality from staff, unique and delicious starter, entrees and deserts.
Loved the crispy rice, the sourdough ice cream, ricotta coffee chocolate fudge, and etc.
A very sincere thank you to Mr. George MC Gettigan, Chef Jeff, Ceaser, Patty & all the ladies & gentlemen who work diligently to make this restaurant a place that you like to go back again & again.

This was our first time here and it was Fantastic. The service was exceptional, the food was excellent and the ambiance and environment was terrific. Thank you Bear for a wonderful birthday brunch! Highly recommend the buttermilk biscuits, the Wagyu Burger, the Salmon Benedict, and the Range salad, and the pancakes.

As guest at the ranch we got to try Bear for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. Exceptional each time. For breakfast we really enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches the egg was so creamy, fluffy, and silky. For lunch we got to try a pesto gnocchi and chicken sesame noodle, both were delicious. And finally for dinner we had a whole bunch of dishes we got to try but the star was this unassuming cauliflower dish with anchovies. I’ll be thinking about that dish for years to come. Sad we’re not local or else we’d frequent this place more but if you’re visiting Napa, it is a must! The views alone when seated outdoors especially around sunset makes it worth it. I’d like to give a special mention to our server Angel, she was so sweet, friendly, attentive, and welcoming and was the reason we had such a great first experience that encouraged us to come back again!

Nestled within the Stanley Ranch complex, Bear has a very extensive and interesting menu. Every dish is a new and different take on some common and not so common preparations. Standouts include the bison tartar, the short rib lettuce wraps, and the maitake mushrooms. But nothing missed. Reasonable pricing considering where it is located and the quality. Extensive wine list.

2 stars for the beautiful restaurant. The server and busser were both attentive and did a good job. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.
While the presentation looked nice, the short ribs were extremely overcooked — quite possibly the worst we’ve had. Coming from Hawaii, where short ribs are a staple, we know what well-prepared short ribs should taste like. These were dry, tough, and the outer pieces were so overdone they had the texture of fried fish bones or jerky. Only a small portion in the center was tender, making up maybe a third of the dish.
On a positive note, the new potatoes and oysters were delicious — even the water was good! But we were still charged separately for the potatoes that came with the ribs, which was surprising given the quality of the main dish.
Overall, it’s a beautiful restaurant with good staff, but the food—especially the short ribs—was a major disappointment.
They will make you wait for your table even if the restaurant is mostly empty, possibly due to being short staffed (explains the pre cooked, reheated ribs)
