I had a wonderful experience at Bistro Giovanni! The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server, Peyman R, made the evening even better — he was friendly, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. You can tell he cares about his guests and enjoys what he does. I’ll definitely be coming back and asking for Peyman next time! Highly recommend this place!

Excellent food, beautiful presentation and attentive service. Extensive, premium wine list with old work and new world wines. Too loud. Difficult to hear and sometimes understand server’s words - his heavy accent & ambient noise

Food was excellent. I little expensive but was cooked perfect. Definitely try their lamb shanks. Tender and juicy. They also have a wide selection of wines and cocktails. The waiter/server was so attentive and always made sure our wine glasses and water cups were filled. She was also great at giving us tips on the perfect wines to pair with our meals. The environment was relaxed and vibrant. Moderate noise when its busy, but beautiful scenery of the vineyard that's right next to the restaurant. Overall had a great experience and definitely a great spot for lunch, dates, or birthdays.

When in and around Napa, we were surprised at having Don Giovanni recommended at least 2-3 times by different locals, turns out they were right, this place was good.
Their outside seating area is the hallmark, replete with abundant string lighting and splashy fountain. The service was very old school, but energetic, and notably well mannered, probably the best we had over a week around Napa.
Menu is good and varied on the whole, but their were a couple misses from what we ordered, like a ho-hum affogato (how is that possible?), and a surprisingly sub-par bolognaise.
Would be happy to go back!

Oh waiter was awesome! The food is incredible with homemade pasta and sauces. The atmosphere is also great they have an outdoor area covered with tents with a fountain in the center and lights all around. It is very beautiful! But I don't know what they'd do if it rained? This is definitely a place you don't want to miss.
I’ve been dining here since it opened and yes over thirty years and a good thing doesn’t last forever.
Firstly, the wait staff had become extremely pedestrian. The past few years the servers are not much better than one from Chili’s.
Another is the decor; it’s aging poorly the outdoor patio cover looks like something leftover from burning man. The interior is just plain old and tired.
The food lately has been hit or miss, sometimes it’s fantastic to just meh. The chef changed the frito misto from using delicate and juicy rock shrimp to a species of rubbery prawn/shrimp. I won’t order this again.
Honestly I think Gio has been focusing more on Scala’s downtown. The food there is a level or two beyond, as is the service. Perhaps the “Don” in Don Giovanni is what’s really missing.
I’ll give it another go before the new year though.
