Brown’s tasting room has such a cool vibe. This place would be dope for a friend’s hang or date. I could also see events hosted here too. From the Toni Cade Bambara quote on the wall when you entered, which I hear rotates, to the wine and food pairing tasting, I had a really good time. When you come in the off-season, the staff has more time to give personalized attention. Our host Joe was fun and informative. I enjoyed learning about pairing, tasting techniques, and the story of this winery. It was also lovely to see the photo of the family and vineyard on the wall. Check out the bathroom wallpaper when you’re there too. :-) If you place an order, the tasting fee is waived. Definitely make this place you visit while in Napa.

We had such a great experience at Brown Downtown Napa.
A friend came out from Alabama to spend a week with me in California, and one of the places she really wanted to visit was this winery because of its history and reputation. We stopped in for a tasting with four of us, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the day.
The space is small and intimate in the best way — warm, relaxed, and easy to settle into. The service was genuinely wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable, and never rushed. It felt personal, like the staff actually wanted us there and wanted us to enjoy ourselves.
The wine was excellent, the appetizers were thoughtfully done, and everything flowed at an easy, comfortable pace. We ended up spending more time than we planned because it just felt good to be there.
It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, talk, laugh, and really enjoy the moment. We would absolutely come back and would recommend it without hesitation.
A really special stop in downtown Napa.

One of the best tasting experiences in the valley. Marco is the best. Very engaging, knowledgable and accomodating. Everything is so thoughtful and enjoyable. Very elegant tasting room. Delicious and complex wines. Loved it.
My husband I truly enjoyed ourselves. Once we arrived we were immediately welcomed and was seated. Cedric not only informed us of how the wine was made but, also the history of Dr. Brown and Mrs. Brown. My husband thought he was like the grandchild he knew so much information. The charcuterie board was delicious 😋 and paired so well with the wines 🍷. I will happily go back the next time we are in town.
