I visited Chateau Buena Vista for a caviar tasting. The experience was excellent from start to finish. The caviar was delicious and the service was excellent. The happy hour wine menu is great, too. Chateau Buena Vista is my new downtown Napa go-to.

Two friends and I visited Napa Valley for a girls’ weekend and were drawn to Château Buena Vista by its beautiful pink interior and the chocolate and wine pairings. Unfortunately, the experience turned sour. While the chocolates were delicious and the ambiance stunning, the service left much to be desired.
We arrived close to closing and were told tastings were unavailable, but we could enjoy wine by the glass. I decided to purchase a bottle of Ida’s Pinot Noir for $55—the same wine I had been enjoying. At checkout, the server asked for my email for an e-receipt, then subtly selected a 25% gratuity option on the card reader without asking. Shocked, I adjusted it to 18% but didn’t notice the final total due to the lack of a paper receipt.
Later that evening, I checked my email and discovered I had been charged $125 for a completely different Pinot Noir that wasn’t even on the menu. We were leaving the next morning, so I couldn’t dispute the charge in person. I called the Château and was promised a callback, but it’s been over a week with no response.
While the venue is gorgeous and the chocolates are outstanding, this experience was completely ruined by the deceitful behavior of one staff member. Be very cautious of what you’re being charged if you visit. I cannot recommend this place based on my experience.

While I typically refrain from penning reviews, the persistent mistreatment I have encountered compelled me to articulate my grievances. During a recent visit with my brother, a loyal member of the club, we sought a brief tasting session around 4pm on Saturday, August 3rd; before attending a family gathering. Regrettably, our experience was marred by an encounter with a purported "wine educator" who callously inquired if we intended to purchase a bottle of the wine we were sampling. This abrupt and unwarranted query left us feeling unjustly scrutinized based on our appearance. Regrettably, this incident marked the third occasion in which we have been subjected to such discriminatory treatment at this establishment.

All I can say is WOW I have never recieved such horrible service and experienced such blatant racism. As a corporate party planner I deal with venues all the time and I have never met staff so rude. I was excited to try this place because the venue looked beautiful and I thought it would be the perfect place for our group to do a tasting.Upon entering there was 8 people at most including the staff. There were 3 staff on the floor, the lady making chocolate and 2 others behind the bar. NO ONE looked up to greet me even though you could clearly hear me walk in and there was no music playing. I proceeded to stand there awkwardly but no one even lifts thier head. I have to walk up to one of them to advise I am here for my reservation. Mind you I called ahead of time to let them know I would be getting there early because I wanted to put out some gifts so they KNEW I was coming. The guy begrudgingly walks me to my space and even though I'm carrying two large boxes and wearing heels not once offers to help.The last straw was once my full party arrives he proceeds to make a short conversation feigning interest in us to save face then pours all 3 wines does a short spiel and leaves us alone pretty much the rest of the evening. It is clear the point they were making. People of color are not welcomed and both the staff and the customers are on the same page. Everywhere else I went in Napa everyone was wonderful polite and friendly so it was not location just this specific venue. Please spend your money somewhere else.
