Very disappointed! It was as if the restaurant did not expect people to be coming at 6 PM on a Friday night. The food took well over an hour to come out. The steak was extremely tough. The vegetables that came on the side of the halibut were nearly uncooked with no flavor. We were too tired to complain and really wanted to get out of there. The restaurant was extremely loud and had very poor acoustics. We couldn't hear ourselves talk over the party next to us.

Haven't been to Compline since before Covid and it is still serving great food and wine. Had the fried chicken and my friend had the burger. Fried chicken was dark brown so looked burnt but it wasn't. The boneless pieces were so tasty and the gravy and mustard greens were excellent. My friend loved the burger and commented on how brioche like the bun was. Had an excellent red Burgundy (Rollin) and was priced well at $75. Highly recommend.

I have visited this establishment twice, each time specifically to enjoy their duck fat fries. Their exceptional crispness and superior quality are unmatched by any other fries I've tasted. During my most recent visit, I also sampled the lamb meatballs, which I paired with a 2020 La Cabotte Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This wine displayed a lovely deep ruby-purple hue with pronounced notes of fresh plum, cherry, orange zest, and herbal spice. The pairing was quite successful. However, I did note that the restaurant's price of $110 for this wine is considerably higher than the typical retail price of $59, which I checked afterwards.

Food was very good but service was incredibly slow. Server disappeared for about 25 minutes and our food came out very late. They did compensate by comping the appetizer we got.

Had dinner at Compline after a day of wine tastings and it was the perfect ending to an already wonderful day. Had dinner at the bar and the bartender was so nice and helpful with recommendations, wines to pair with dinner, and the restaurant was great vibes. Had the burger and duck fat fries which were amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
When I made the reservation, Compline had one or two vegetarian dishes on the menu. By the time we visited, both of them had been removed. There was nothing for my wife to eat. Our server said that the chef had removed all vegetarian plates several weeks prior and made a conscious decision not to replace them, and that it has become "an issue". The chef offered to make my wife spaghetti for $30. We just had to laugh at that point. So yeah: it's an issue, and we left to find a better restaurant that cares about its patrons.

The wine by the glass selection is very limited. Although they state that they are one of the only wine bars in the area, they offer only two sets of flights and some other by the glass option. To be fair, the selection of the wines is carefully done, so that’s plus. Glassware is basic, nothing impressive. Service is ok although they should be more engaged with guests. Pours are also on a little side. Overpriced. Overall ok, up to 3.5 experience.
