Food here is very good. The cheeseburger is one of the better burgers I have had in a while. Duck fat fries are a must. Fried chicken sandwich is fantastic as well.
The food and wine quality was amazing, and the staff was very attentive. The wine pairing with the tasting menu was spot on, with appropriate portion sizes.

One year ago I gave Compline Wine Shop a negative review, saying it was high priced and catered to the tourist crowd. Well as the saying goes "you live and you learn". After more than a year it has become one of my favorite shops in Napa. It has a great selection, fair prices and a knowledgeable staff; with more than Napa wines. Their selection of French, German, and Italian wines is fantastic. 5stars Ron Fontana Napa, Ca.

Great burgers, duck fat fries, delived eggs and pasta. The beef tartare was a little under seasoned and could have benefited from a finer chop. Service was excellent. Would return.

Update: I fully understand the cancellation policy, which is why I called to discuss our situation. During my conversation with Patrick, he assured me that we wouldn’t be charged a cancellation fee, and I genuinely appreciated his understanding. Based on that, majority of the group went home.
However, shortly after, I received another call from Ryan, who contradicted Patrick’s statement and accused me of misrepresenting the situation, claiming he was standing next to Patrick and that no such conversation took place. This not only created confusion but also felt like an unnecessary challenge to my integrity as a customer. As a working professional, I value honesty and communication, and this experience was disappointing.
This is why I left the review—to highlight the inconsistency and how it was handled, which I found unacceptable

We made a reservation at Compline for my husband's birthday dinner. Looking for somewhere we hadn't dined with good ambiance and an interesting menu. We were not disappointed! We dined inside, which had an understated modern and elegant vibe. We were greeted warmly, and seated right away. Service was good--few lulls during the meal, but overall attentive. The food was delicious! Three of our party selected the Prix Fixe tasting menu, all getting different combinations of the offerings. Our fourth ordered two different dishes from the standard menu. Each dish was beautifully presented. The flavors - complex and complimentary for each plate. Portion sizes were perfect. Enough to come back for more, but not so much that we felt too full to enjoy all three courses. Suffice to say, a feast for both the eyes and the palates. We chose wine by the glass, and the selection was good. We were all happy with our choices, but one thing to note, if you're looking for Napa wines, you won't get them here. One member of our party was from out-of-town and interested in a Napa wine. We were told by our waiter that Compline intentionally does not have Napa wines because a lot of industry people dine at their restaurant. Understandable, but a bummer for our out-of-towner. They also do not serve cocktails. Price point was very reasonable for the food and wine we received. We will definitely recommend and be back.

Good wine, nice patio, but had maybe the most bland fish dish I have ever eaten out... was surprising. My husband got the French dip, not enough meat but good flavor. The wine was the only thing that saved the meal.

Our dinner at Compline was absolutely perfect! The portions were just right and the courses were delicious! I would certainly recommend the tuna crudo and the short ribs! Our waiter Andrew was very knowledgeable, efficient and delightful. We will be going back frequently!

Our dinner was incredible. We had the new pork dish, the Hamachi crudo and the steak. The flavors were fantastic, and the atmosphere sitting on the patio was lovely. Be sure to try the desserts - especially the chocolate one - fantastic. Our service was perfect as well.

Very relaxing atmosphere, concise, and incredible menu, the wine list is unbelievable... Thankfully, they have a sommeiler on staff to help you with that!  Apparently known you little for their spaghetti carbonara...absolutely amazing (and heavy on the parm in a good way)!
