Diners in Napa

“I've been going to Emmy Lou's Diner for years usually for breakfast coffee. It was a good diner with normal diner food. A while ago, the owner aged out and there is now a new owner.
It was fine before for what it was, but the new owner has spruced it up. The name is changing to La Cocina de Dona Luz (it still also still says Emmy Lou's Diner on the sign) and besides the diner food has a new Mexican menu.
Today instead of just breakfast coffee, I got one of my favorite Mexican dishes, Chilaquiles Rojo with frioles refritos. I was amazed. It was wonderful. The salsa was homemade and fresh and tasted great. I will be going further into the menu soon.
I am not a shill. It's just that this is one of the few real local, non-corporate, non-tourist restaurants left in Napa and with the new Mexican menu is taking a step up. Try it!“
