We came here at 4:30pm as the first group of customers. Ordered and waited for 2 hours. Nothing on the table. I had to chase the waitress to ask about my order. I was told my order was never placed. No apology was made. She said” you can just leave”without looking into my eyes. This is a family gathering night on Christmas Eve. Never had any terrible experience like this. I don’t know how this restaurant can operate.

Spent a Wonderful evening dining at Empress M! It was exceptional. My favorites were the Spring Rolls and 4 count dumplings. However the duck, sweet and sour pork and fried rice were all wonderful. I’ve already been twice in one week. The ambience was magnificent. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had come in and preordered on 12/30 some apps. to bring to a NYE party at some friends. I had also made reservations to dine with you @ 6pm. When I arrived for dinner Michele said they had run out of potstickers. I had preordered and prepaid and was NOT happy about this. We had an average dinner there the only guest in the empty VIP Room. KOKO and Michele tried to make up for it but it kind of ruin the night.😩 The potstickers did arrive just before we had to leave for the party. I will never recommend Empress M or return there myself a meal. I have never had this poor experience @ Wa Sing and your food is VERY expensive. I am not sure how you are still in business! One of the worst experiences ever I know it’s the busy season but to be seated on not talked by any staff for over 1 and 15 minutes with no menu or water given is absurd and should be criminal shame on the staff and the owners , this place is not welcoming and just plain rude take your money elsewhere plenty other good spots in Napa

Open Christmas and they were in the weeds. The food was delicious! They were hustling with a smile and the stress was there but they did a great job. We aren’t from Napa and some of the locals should be ashamed how they spoke to those folks and behaved on Christmas!!! Empress M - go and enjoy the food and friendly staff!

The food is really good, very helpful American waitress. The only down side is the very rude 2 chinese lady that taking the order and always yelling coming out from the kitchen bringing out the foods. It really makes the atmosphere negative.
The food is always delicious. The particular night that we were dining there the service was terrible. I believe you were understaffed. The biggest complaint was the huge TV screen that you had in the small dining room. It was on a loop, portraying lions chasing down gazelles and killing them, plus other animals doing the same thing as we were trying to enjoy our dinner. I did complain but nothing was done. I'm not sure why the staff chose to show something like that.

Astounded and not in a good way. We arrived on Christmas Day for our late lunch. There were two doors slightly ajar and one propped open. When we walked in, it was a hallway not manned by any host or staff member. One woman walked past and didn't acknowledge us, a busser then walked by and my husband caught his attention and he said someone would be right with us. He then spoke to the woman who hadn't acknowledged us and pointed to the back room and said something that sent him cleaning a table. He rounded the corner, not approaching us, and pointed to the table, motioning for us to sit there, and mentioned someone would be by with plates and silverware. We sat there for 5 minutes with nothing but a black tablecloth and waters, then menus were dropped off for three when we had four in our party. Another 10 minutes passed without even a glance in our direction. When our server finally showed up, she asked for drink orders, looked like she remembered something, and sped off to another table, in the middle of us ordering drinks. While odd, we assumed there was a good reason, though we never saw that woman again. After another 10 minutes my husband walked over to talk to a busser that had been walking around and asked if we could have someone take our order. 5 minutes later I called Los Agaves in downtown Napa to ask if they had availability for us and they gratefully did. We left shortly after I hung up the phone and we walked out. No one was there to stop us, ask if everything was okay, or even notice that we had left. I would highly recommend going anywhere else in Napa if you'd like to eat in a timely fashion.

Excellent dining experience at The Empress.
The food is flavorful, well-balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients—nothing overly greasy or heavy. Dishes come out hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. Service is attentive and efficient without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.
If you’re looking for a reliable Chinese restaurant that delivers on both taste and service, The Empress is a solid choice. Would happily return.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Napa! I’ve usually only gotten takeout although their courtyard is very nice. The beef chow fun is soooo good!
