Hog Island Oyster Co. is an absolute must-visit! We came during happy hour and couldn’t resist the special—12 oysters for just $30. What a steal for what turned out to be the best oysters I’ve ever had. Each one was unbelievably fresh, perfectly chilled, and bursting with flavor. You can truly taste the quality and care that goes into them.

The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot to enjoy oysters with a drink. I can’t recommend this place enough—if you’re an oyster lover (or even just curious to try), Hog Island will set the bar high. Fresh, flavorful, and simply unforgettable!

Our server Darius was amazingly kind and gave us the perfect white wine pairing for our oysters. He went above and beyond for me and my sister. We will most definitely return. Thank you Darius!!!!!

My daughter & I use Hog Island as an ending location for our Napa trips. We got the 12oyster plater, Burrata & Peaches side & bread. The Burrato is roasted peach salsa, mint, Thai basil, nuts, balsamic reduction & grilled leaving. It was delicious. Their oysters are always top notch & we both love the vinegrette mix that is provided for the oysters. We like that they have an outdoor, covered eating area so my daughter can have her dog with us. They always provide a water bowl for her dog. We were a bit worried about time as I had to get her to the Vallejo ferry, but the service was so very quick. When we said we wanted the Burrato & Peach, she asked us to wait & ordered it immediately! We got the very last one available! She got all of our order to us very quickly & was very friendly. We got to the ferry with 10min to spare & had a wonderful day.

Hog Island Oyster Co is a top recommendation, known for its fresh oysters and scenic locations. They have multiple locations, including this one at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. We came in the late afternoon and only two types of oysters were available. Their signature Hog Island Highwater and Sweetwater, both from different bays in the CA Pacific. We found them both briny-salty with the Highwater providing more texture than the Sweetwater. The Sweetwater has an earthy, smoky finish.
Those that sit outside the oyster bar can take oysters to go and bring their favorite wine, beer or beverage to the Ferry building. Some even take them across the river and picnic, either way, Hog Island Oyster Co shucks some tasty oysters.

Overpriced food. Looking at the crowd, we thought it would be a good place to try. It turned out to be pretty much below average. Oysters were okay. Poke bowl was excessively salty.
Staffs were not that great either. Service could have been much much better. They refused to provide a small amount of boiled water when we asked because apparently everything is cold in the kitchen.
