Phenomenal. Period dot. Highly recommend Kenzo. First third accompanied by Kenzo's Sauv Blanc, middle third by a glass of junmai daijingo sake, last third by a glass of Kenzo Rindo (Bordeaux-inspired blend). They also poured us some complimentary sake with the sushimi course and a glass of late harvest sauv blanc with dessert. Superior attention to detail with every dish.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. They hit all the right notes. The service is impeccable and the food is over the top. The chefs from Japan put together flavors that meld so nicely and put a burst of flavor in your mouth. The fish is always fresh and the waygu beef melts in your mouth because it is so tender. They deserve their Michelin star.

Incredible service and attention to detail. Martin and the rest of the team were very inviting and top notch.

Martin was an amazing waiter who provided a descriptive highlight of every course. We enjoyed every meal as described. Thank you Martin!

I wanted so badly to love this place. I took my sister here for her first Michelin Star experience. It was entirely disappointing. The flavors were underwhelming, the plating wasn't appealing and not what I would expect from a multi-star awarded restaurant that charges $200 per person. Seriously, not one bite that was placed in front of us would knock your socks off, so I honestly don't get it. Would I come back? Obviously not. Is it worth the experience? No. There are so many other omakase sushi restaurants that put this place to shame. Don't waste your time or money. I will say the staff and service were great and we appreciated that.

I think this was quite possibly the greatest overall dining experience I've ever had in my life so far. Thank you Martín.

This is our favorite Japanese restaurant outside of Japan. It never disappoints and is such a special Place that remains true to traditional Japanese kaiseki style.

Amazing food and service!

I now understand the Michelin star rating, after visiting Kenzo. We opted for the pre set alcohol menu that was pared perfectly with the food items. We loved it.

There’s a reason Kenzo is a Michelin one star.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by one of the staff members who took my photo outside.

Once you walk inside, you feel like you’re transported to Japan. The servers are all dressed in suit and tie. Jazz music plays in the background.

I had the pleasure of sitting at the sushi bar to watch the chefs create their dishes. It was awesome chatting with both of the chefs. One of them gave me restaurant recommendations for Tokyo. The other showed how wasabi is created.

Not only are the chefs making the dishes but they pay attention to the guests. The attention to detail at this restaurant is phenomenal.

All 9-courses of the Kaiseki menu were delicious. I especially enjoyed Adrian (my server), who explained the meaning behind each dish.

It was an incredible two and half hour dining experience. I look forward to coming back.

Second time at Kenzo. This time it was quite bad. The sushi shari was horrible! Consistently bad even since last year. The shari is too mushy and cold. The texture and moisture of the shari are worse than instant sushi rice at HMart. The service was good, but oh my! It was so loud due to a big party table right behind our counter. Please take away the Michelin star until these issues are addressed!!!

When you step into Kenzo, you are transported to a standard, intimate restaurant setting in Japan.
Kenzo offers a superb fine dining Japanese kaiseki experience where presentation and service truly shines.
As for quality flavors in comparison to Kaiseki restaurants offered in Japan, there are some dishes that are rich in flavors, but others that can be improved slightly.

Definitely give Kenzo a try for anniversary, birthday, or just a special treat for a one star Michelin rated meal. They also customize their menus for special occasions.

The wine pairing is great if you don’t have time to go to the Kenzo estate.

After a multi course tasting, it was unusual not to enjoy one of the courses. Especially at a 1 Michelin star restaurant with very good reviews. The Michelin star and the reviews is what brought us to this little hidden place in Napa. Despite the accolades, this restaurant did not impress, the atmosphere was nice with a Japanese influence, and the service was very good. Yet the main focus, the food was very disappointing. It was so unimpressive it had us questioning our own taste buds but in the end when we knew we were served less than good food. To highlight a few of the disasters, we had dry Seabass , a selection of nigiri with overcooked rice tasteless and dessert which was unappealing to the taste buds. Watermelon slices that lacked watermelon flavor, mango pudding with an unappealing texture and taste and a lemon ice/sorbet that was somewhat good, but after $900 you have to eat something right. Oh and also the wine and champagne were good.
