La Toque in Napa is a fine dining location, with spacious limited capacity seating, a very formal air, & requires reservations. They have vegetarian and vegan tasting menus. The food is good & creative. This is a special occasion restaurant. Valet parking is included if you dine. I give it a 4 instead of 5 because I generally dock very high end & formal dining establishments down a notch for those 2 criteria. However, for vegetarian & vegan formal dining in wine country, this may be the best bet in terms of service, quality & relative price.

We recently visited La Toque, while in Napa. We tried the vegetarian tasting menu. The service was fantastic, the food however was disappointing. No complaints with the preparation or taste but very disappointed by the lack of imagination. Serving grilled portobello mushroom, at a Michelin star restaurant, for a vegetarian entree seems outdated. We have had fantastic vegetarian meals/tasting menus around the world and this one lacked creativity.

The food and ambiance here are pure elegance. Yes, it is more of a special occasion place but if I had my druthers I would have special occasion Thursdays. The menu changes often and is very seasonal. You definitely get the best of the season when you eat here. We have been going to La Toque for many years and it cannot be said enough - This is the one restaurant that we go to where I would recommend the wine pairings. The somm and the Chef do these together and it shows. The last time my husband went (I couldn't be there) he told me he had the best pasta of his life. I believe him.

Back from Napa —but last night was a culinary delight for us at La Toque(means the touch) -We had a booking and we were shown to our table —The place was almost full and the ambiance was soking -We started with the Passion fruit refresher and the ELf Elixir mocktails the mixologist did a good job we then had the French onion soup , the Twice cokes fermanted Octupus -which strirred our palate we then tried the cauliflower steak , the Gloucester Pollock tempura and the Puffed Kuwhihikara rice bowl ( puffed rice based) was out of the world . We were too ful but we indulged in the Apricot cake and chocolate cake for tops . We then met Jason Rivas who spoke to us -The overall staff was very pleasing and attentive to all clients -Over all a 7 star experience —A must visit for all tourists @ Napa
