We pulled off of the highway after seeing a sign for a winery, and it might have been the best decision we made during the entire trip. In fact, the best decision I've made in all my travels this year. What followed were 3 of the most memorable, delicious, and educational hours of my life. Mehmet met us at the front, we decided we wanted the tour and meal, and he drove us around the ranch while the chef prepared our meal. For reasons I still can't believe, we were the only ones there and had his full attention the entire time.
Mehmet is kind, funny, FULL of knowledge on ranching, olive oil, wine, agriculture, and Kurdistan. I think my favorite part was learning so much about the Kurdish culture. He entertained our many questions and told us his story of building the land into a beautiful winery 23 years ago. The views are unbelievable, and the property buildings are something out of a dream (truly, he brought the stones to build the main hall from his village back home).
After we chose a bottle of wine, pet the animals, tied a wish on the wish tree, and visited the museum, we sat down for our meal. Turns out the chef was his wife, Nadja (I hope I'm spelling that right). Y'all - this was one of the best meals I've ever had in my entire life. I'm going to yearn for it until I can visit again. We were sat at a table under the mulberry trees overlooking the stunning views - not a car or truck to be heard anywhere. It felt like we had gone back in time. All of the dishes were sourced from ingredients on their farm - the goat cheese, the hummus, the quail salad - I have seriously thought about these every day since we left.
It's been a heard year, and this visit was the balm my soul desperately needed. Mehmet and Nadja, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your life with us. Everyone else - go go go visit!
Incredible experience, views, and owners! By far the most personal experience we had during our time in Napa. Wine and food were great, too. ?
Decided to make a trip to Napa and called Sid at M.S Torun Winery and Ranch to see if they could fit me in for a tasting. All I can say is outstanding! Sid and his wife have a wonderful winery and outstanding organic grown food! Humble, kind, and friendly. Of course the wine is great and the food is as I said OUTSTANDING!
Sid and his wife are phenomenal! We just drove up here one day and called to see if he was open or if we needed a reservation. Since he did not have any customers he welcomed us with open arms. This winery is a project of love, they have contributed blood, sweat and tears to make fantastic wine and food. Their story is a heart warming one and you will not find a more welcoming couple. The best way to spend an afternoon - hands down!
Beautiful place, for weddings and special events.
What a beautiful scenic winery. Thought I was in the hills of Tuscany for a second. The couple that runs the vast winery were so genuine and welcoming (a more personal touch than the big/corporate wineries you might experience in Napa). They took us on a tour of the entire winery, and they have quite a bit of vineyard to walk and explore. We had the breakfast with a view, it was wonderful. Would absolutely recommend.
What a fantastic venue. Fantastic wine, excellent food, and a wonderful hosts. There's fabulous views, and a vast amount to explore. So happy to have chosen this place, and will come back. Love how the owners have have put so much time and effort into their land. The default winery to take any guests when heading to wine country.Excited to see this place with the new tasting room underway.
This was by far our most memorable experience in Napa Valley. It felt like we were a guest in Sid’s home for the afternoon. He set up a beautiful table for us to enjoy our tasting as well as an array of snacks including cheese, olives, dried fruit etc. After our tasting we continued with a tour through his property on a 4wd kubota that ended with us finishing our bottle of wine at the top of his property with wide ranging views out to Pleasure Cove of Lake Berryessa. Everything done on this property is done by hand and the love, care and respect for the land is evident. We had the 2018 Cabernet while we were there and enjoyed it thoroughly. He lost a lot in the fires including fruit trees, non Cabernet vines, and many animals. This place is a must visit while you are in Napa.
Best place, best people. Highly recommended
Absolutely an incredible and unforgettable experience! Mine and my parents first time in Napa, ans we could not have dreamed of a more perfect and personal experience. If you're making a trip up to Napa make a reservation here for an intimate experience complete with delicious wine, fresh and incredible organic food and a unique tour filled with adventure and amazing stories. Sidik is a hardworking and compassionate man with an incredible story from his journey to America in the 90's to coping (and rebuilding) from the massive fires two years ago. This man does it all and has the most amazing attitude and passion for what he does.

Highly recommend M.s Toruń vinery and ranch ,My first winery experience in Napa Valley was excellent because mr.Siddik was so hospitable and knowledgable! We were there with a friend all perfectly accommodated. He made our visit unforgettable and we all hope to return soon. Our experience was truly one of a kind thanks to Mr Siddik,He also gave us tour to other close wineries and gave us a lot of information
One of the most authentic wine tasting experience I’ve ever had! The host, Sid, made our visit memorable with the wine and olive oil tasting, tour of his property and delicious homemade dishes. We’ll definitely be back again!
Highly recommend a visit to this beautifully situated, charming and friendly winery with gorgeous views out over the golden hills of Napa. It is astonishing what owner Sid and his family have created over 20 years with thousands of vines, olive groves and other trees on 400+ acre winery. The if you have not experienced a 20 dish farm to table repast complete with hand-crafted goat and feta cheese, estate grown nuts, preserves and honey, quiche and an remarkable selection of olives this is the place to do it. A beautifully set table and stunning views complete the experience. The stone round house and grounds would also be an excellent wedding venue or special gatherings place. We also enjoyed the tasty Cabernet. Stop by. Call in advance if you can but we just drove to the closed gate, called and we were driving up the drive in minutes.
This place is fantastic!!! I have been exploring wineries all over the area for a while now and this was by far the absolute best experience! All the food and wine is prepared by the owners and is absolutely delicious! You feel like you're visiting family or close friends, the scenery is gorgeous and it's just a one of a kind amazing experience you wouldn't get at a big overhyped winery.I can't recommend this place enough 13/10We purchased a cab-zinfandel blend and it was outstanding.
M.S. Torun WineryIt’s been four days since I visited this winery and I’m still shaking my head in wonder. This is a must see winery experience just to meet the creator of it all, Sidik Torun. His cabernet sauvignon is very good indeed but it pales in comparison to experience what this man has created single-handedly.The words that spring to mind are prodigious, awe-inspiring, incredible, wonderful.Sidik bought his land over 18 years ago and used up almost all his capital to do so. His estate was covered in mature oak trees and he was almost broke. So he began to clear the land by hand and sell firewood. He told me that he used to make three trips per day to San Francisco to do so, leaving at 4 a.m. and finally returning home at 10 p.m.He cleared enough land to begin planting olive trees and vines and building his home and tasting centre. He also built the long, steep, serpentine road from the valley to his eyrie just below a ridge. That is a story in itself.I was his last visitor of the day and I sat outside his house on the lawn at a table overlooking the valley and facing at the mountain range opposite. The table was covered in delicacies, a fresh tomato salad, three types of olives, olive oil, a small quiche, honey, mulberry juice reduction, walnuts, hazelnuts, feta cheese, another cow/goat cheese and something that reminded me of burrata. There were several more dishes and he took evident pride in telling me that they were all produced on his estate. To accompany all of this, I sipped a very fine cab, which had intense berries, a great, full mouth feel and long finish. You have to buy the wine by the bottle but I was glad to take most of it home to enjoy later. He is of Kurdish extraction and loves the mountains and his people who do not yet have a state.Sidik, you have my enormous admiration and respect. You have shown me what a man with great drive and determination can create. Congratulations!P.S. This estate takes some time to get to but is worth it… and be on time!
