Disappointed with Morimoto Napa. Service was slow (had to ask for refills of our water glasses, staff disappeared for extended periods of time). Water tasted very minerally. Wasabi was weak. Shrimp tempura maki roll was just bland and the tempura was soggy. Freshwater eel sushi was cold and nearly devoid of eel sauce. Salmon sushi was “just okay.” Will not return and unlikely to visit any of his other restaurants.

We were very fortunate to be guided in our ordering by our server. He chose very well for us (sashimi and sushi rice for DIY nigiri). The high-quality fish was followed by a well-prepared waygu steak. Overall, it was a tasty and well-timed meal!

I absolutely LOVED the place. I just wish it was in Orange County as we would be regular patrons. The food was OUTSTANDING!! I have been to many restaurants in this type. But this was one of the absolute best! please come to Orange County! We need you there!

We had a great time at Morimoto Napa and enjoyed the Chocolate Bomb dessert after. We decided to dine family style and enjoyed a variety of dishes. We also chose to sit outside - which was quieter - however the heat lamps were going like mad. It was a bit hot and uncomfortable, but the food was good. Enjoyed the addition of spices to dip our surf skewers on - that was a fun new experience!

We were excited to come here since Morimoto is one of our favorite chefs. It was my partner's birthday too. I think it was an off night because my partner's steak came out way late after my salmon came out. When it came, it came raw (blue color). It was suppose to be medium rare. My salmon was very rare which I don't know if that is just the way they prefer to cook it. It came very cold though. We sent the steak back, and they cooked it more. It came back rare though. Also, it took awhile for our waiter to take our drink order when we sat down, but I don't believe it was the waiter's fault. The waiter was busy; however they should have someone else take our drink order. The waiter was very friendly and helpful though. It was a bizarre experience since we had high expectations. Just an off night I believe.
