I was real disappointed in this black bear. I had open face turkey sandwich the turkey tasted like lunch meat gravy tastes like it was out of jar or can. Mashed potatoes were good I am sure before the gravy was added. My husband had salad chicken was hard. My son had chicken strips hard. I have been to many black bear dinners. Napa has to be one of the worst . I have went there many years back and for some reason I never went back . Tried it again and remembered why I never go there. Also took a piece of cheese cake home asked my son how it was he said horrible. I don’t know what is going on in this restaurant but it need looked at by the owners.

I was really glad we had breakfast at black bear diner in Napa. Food was really tasty, and our server was really accommodating.. she even went above and beyond and gave us ice cream for my boyfriend to blow candle for his birthday. Thank you!
Consistent and no letdown here.Kid-friendliness: Our server Michael really went above and beyond to make coming here enjoyable for my little ones.When we sat he brought crayons and the whole we were waiting on our order he even brought some stickers over.

Server was great food was terrible. I had a patty melt and my husband a a tri tip dip. French fries tasted like old oil and my patty melt was greasy and over cooked. Not good at all.

Very busy night, but everyone was so wonderful. We had to wait to be seated but it was full. The host was nice and the server still took time for us. Great place and great people!
While we were waiting to be seated, lots of employees walked past us. The restaurant seemed to be less than half full. 10 minutes later we were seated. We were allowed to look at the menu for about 15 minutes before we were asked if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered and then waited for our coffee. After about 15 more minutes, our food came out. The food is just OK. Service is definitely slow. Luckily the 49er game was on the TV and we had 4 in our party and conversation kept us busy. Given the food and service, we will not be back to this restaurant. Too bad because we've had good experiences at other Black Bear restaurants.
