We had a party of 10. They kindly seated us in a private room. Music was a little loud but they promptly lowered volume when asked. Service was great. Everyone liked the food. Grilled peach salad with burrata was sooo good!

Our dinner reservation was early, 6:30 PM, and the restaurant had already run out of mussels and asparagus. There was hardly anyone seated inside the restaurant and maybe three tables full on the patio. My husband had the shrimp Alfredo pasta and enjoyed it very much. I ended up with mac ‘n' cheese and green goddess salad. Meh. Service was good. Our server was extremely apologetic, but who runs out of food before the dinner rush even starts?

This was not our first time in this restaurant, the food was never out of this world, but was decent, and easy to get a table. This time everything was pretty bad- the lamb burger was not near to be medium, but very very well done, the schnitzel was so grossly overcooked, we returned it and the one they brought back ( it took them 1 min- did they cook it the night before?) was even worse- overcooked again, the meat was beyond thin and impossible to chew, the potatoes were undercooked and extremely salty , and the waiter was weird with unnecessary chatty energy. We will not come back and would not recommend to others.

Came for some After Wine Dinner and a Sweet Treat! NOPE! SO... My beautifuler better half ordered the Molten Cake and Ice Cream on Top, a side of fries (truffle) and I got Shrimp Alfredo to Pad the Wine. We asked to bring it all as it comes and eat whenever. The server brought us water. Then ice cream. Then fries with a dusting of cold parmesian, Then my fettuccine. Then a cold lava cake with an apology the kitchen was backed up. It was a Wednesday and we were one of 3 tables in the entire restaurant. The food runner handled our food and never saw our server. Never heard the wine or drink specials. They took the dessert off the tab and we left. I wish I was more unsober to maybe not notice how terrible the whole thing was. Sorry.

Norman Rose Tavern is one of our regular stomping grounds because the food is consistently good and the environment is comfortable. My husband and I went there for a late lunch and sat in a booth by the window to people watch the passersby on the street.
We enjoyed our server’s mellow nature and smooth service. I was thirsty from being out in the sun and both server and busser kept my iced tea and water full. Seriously, I must have a hollow leg to store it all!

The Wedge Salad is big enough to share. Crispy, fresh, and tasty!
My husband was craving a BLT. It was not on the menu but they had all of the ingredients so the server made it possible. He thought it was perfect. The bread and bacon were proportioned evenly making each bite delicious.
Their lamb burger is always good. I love how the cheese and greens dance with the flavors of the lamb.
What blew us away this time though were the Sweet Potato Fries. Seriously? It is a mystery what made them stand out for us?? They were the best we have ever had. My husband does not like sweet potato fries and he thought they were great. They were cooked to perfection. Nice crusty outside and a tasty inside.

Overall, an excellent and versatile bar and restaurant on First Street in Napa. Counter seating, indoor and outdoor seating and able to accommodate small and large parties. A limited number of beers on-tap, but a full bar. The menu is relatively small, but diverse with delicious choices. There's a private dining room. The wait staff is prompt and friendly.

Stopped here for a quick drink. Place was empty, so service was pretty fast. Did not try the food. Our group of 10 fit easily.
