I enjoyed the last few days of restaurant month. The duck confit was superb, pear salad amazing and my staff enjoyed the bread pudding. Dominic was an excellent host. Thank you for year of amazing meals and kind service.

Had a nice dinner. Great calamari app. Had the Baja fish tacos, very tasty. All the other entrees were delicious and the price was not bad. Overall a good value.

Overall, the food was delicious. The busboy was amazing—super friendly, attentive, and consistently refilled our water. His service really stood out. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn't quite at the same level. Not bad, but not 5-star—could have been warmer and more attentive. We interacted with a couple of servers, and the experience was fairly consistent across them. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from Napa: clean, elegant, and relaxing. Overall, if it weren't for the service from the waitstaff, this would easily be a 5-star experience.

We celebrated my girlfriend birthday. Good services , food was good like always, overall it was nice. They didn't rush you . My guest enjoyed everything.

It was quite busy because of the lighted art festival, so perhaps the quality was a bit down. Overall, I thought it was just "fair." Nothing particularly great -- it was just okay. The french fries, for instance, were pale and limp. My french dip was good -- and I guess a good value in Napa. Nobody's dinner (there were four of us) was unusually good -- all just "okay." So while I wouldn't avoid it, I wouldn't run back either. Nothing to really complain about -- but since you asked, I thought I'd provide honest feedback. Servers were hurried and switched over and over. Again -- just "fair."

Our service was good I just hated there was such a wait. I reserved a table at 7:30 and didn't get seated until like 7:50 (which is fine) but when we ordered our food it took a very long time for it to come out. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to come out. It may have been busy but when you're hungry and there's two hungry kids with us it was annoying.

It was a busy night Saturday night and they could have used a few more staff. They weren't prepared for the large crowds coming in for the lighted art festival, the 49er football game and the concert. Normally the service is good any other time just not when it's too busy.

We loved the food. The salmon was perfect and I loved the Hollywood Martinie! It was such a great location with very friendly staff. I will definitely go back.

This pub is located just a block from the Uptown Theater, and we had tix to a show there the night we went to the Norman Rose Tavern. We had a reservation and the folks at the restaurant made sure that our table was ready, the food was prompt, and that we were able to leave to get to the theater on time. Food was tasty and it was a very nice experience!

We were disappointed in the food. Calamari tasted like it had been made the day before and then re-heated. I've had better French Dip sandwiches at other restaurants in town. My friend who had the bread pudding said the vanilla sauce tasted like vanilla instant pudding. The grasshopper pie seemed to have a layer of vanilla frosting, frozen, below the ice cream. Also it was frozen hard, as if it had been in the freezer for days. While the food wasn't worth the price, I have to say the servers were good and pleasant. We'll be going elsewhere in the future.

Update;
New owners within a a year or two had apparently decided to butcher the happy hour offering. I've stopped in multiple times to look at the happy hour menu, hoping to be motivated to indulge but have left instead everytime. Happy hour was created to boost business during the typically slower times. If there are inadequate offerings it's just not your time & 💰. Quite a few locals in Napa are happy hour seekers due to the restaurant prices priced for the tourist on a vacation budget and simply unaffordable for day to day living. Not to mention that it's the locals that keep these businesses afloat during the off season. The off season is now twice the # of months of what it was just a few years ago due to the jacked up room rates, wine tasting fees and the increased restaurant prices. Some of the price increases are justified, but not very many. Now for the most part I simply enjoy my cooking and craft cocktails that are as good or better than I can get anywhere in Napa.

PREVIOUS REVIEW;

Norman Rose has one of my favorite happy hour offerings. Although not extensive, it's not overly focused on the house winning like so many others.
All draft brews are $5, including double and triple IPAs.
It's a great approach &it worked as a marketing tool for me as I ordered a $25 entree. Win win, it works for me!

The food was great however it did take a while for it to come, we ordered the pomegranate spritz that was very mellow in flavor which was nice as I usually don't like overly sweet cocktails! Ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it doesn't come with fries but the sandwich was quite filling! Would definitely come again

The vegetable soup used to have more variety of vegetables in larger pieces. Still tastes good but disappointed with the lack of veggies & the diced pieces now. French dip could have a fresher, softer, & more flavorful roll.

Another wonderful meal at Norman Rose Tavern. This visit was a holiday celebration for our Levendi Winery team, a party of seven. All over the map and all delicious! Meatloaf, French Dip, Salmon and wedge! I often walk in solo from next door and am always treated like a king. Until next time, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday! Steve
